I'm more traditional with regard to the vehicle model range, I'd rather them stick to the 'normal' range of coupes, sedans, wagons, and the full size 4x4. I know times have moved on since then and more people want variety, and that other makers have had to do it for competition reasons or else loose out in the market.
-
Ugh I loath these 'sporty' small crossover 4x4s, Imo they fit into that category of a car that shouldn't exist.
-
Yeah it would be nice to see it go to a good home, but that's up to the market to decide. Personally I'm not so sure about the non-oem headlights as an upgrade but that's just me.

I'd love to put my running gear or a copy of into a Touring like this one. So much work & money though
-
I'd say so.. I mean a bog standard 328i touring would sell for 6k on a cheap day, so for a full motorsport kit and m sport seats, M3 mirrors (if there are genuine) would be worth 2.5-3k at least! 8500-9000 would be a fair range for what has been on recently. Definitely change the wheels though.
-
I'm just going to go out on a limb here & say IMO it looked better with the original grille rather than the black.
-
From my experience even with a good set hub rings the wheels still don't ride as well than those with the correct bore. If you have any worn suspensions bushes vibration can also be more noticeable a certain speed too.
-
Such a great example. A car to be proud of.
-
I really wish that car would just go away.
-
Just spotted this very nice example, looks great in black - wheels probably not the best but it still looks the part. TM Link The white indicator lens seems to have a large impact on improving the rear end look of the touring E36.

Hello, would anyone have a pair of the E36 strut tower covers shown in this picture? If so, name your price. Cheers in Advance.

Love Subaru's bull marketing from the 1980s!

Aside from that, when you replace cats, sometimes its best to put in two resonators or small round mufflers, otherwise you can get a bit of a rattly sounding exhaust as the cats tend to suppress some unwanted sounds.

I looked into it. The general consensus is that they are poorly built ecus with a very basic feature set. The quality is very week for the key role the are intended for.. I get the impression you wouldn't even want to run your lawn mower with one (if say it was EFI) Through that, there are a very limited number tuners that will even bother with them... and as they say - you get what you pay for.
-
Super frustrating. I looked into this for an M50 years ago, they exist with some companies, either you will have to import them or just make one up locally with an engineer. Probably best to go with the latter with an M43

An E39 M5, might get point 1 depending on each individual magazines perspective. The most common stat is that a total of 20,482 E39 M5s were made from 1999 to 2003 - that fails point 2.. just! It's a 4 door sedan - Fail. It passes point 4. So it only gets 1, maybe 2 points out of the 3 of the 4 it requires. I think you would have more of a chance importing a E30 M3... 850 CSI... E36 M Coupe, M1 etc...

Hehe, in light of that joke, it would be insane to change it, way too much time spent on the damn thing! That's the thing with conversions... the motor and box swapping is not too complicated, instead I found the bulk of the work is connecting everything up, each wire, fluid line & fitting things in different locations to make other parts fit etc, it goes on & on, that is where the hard work lies IMO.
-
Welcome. Looks to be a perfect example of an E30 M. Nice.

April fools chaps!
-
Yeah it's always frustrating when time runs short and the jobs not done in time for a test drive. Then again, the extra wait makes a delayed drive all the more rewarding! That's interesting.... perhaps it was for warranty purposes back in the day... or that the rear structural design of the chassis doesn't allow for an appropriate tow bar frame to be mounted that can support an extra load?
-
Ahh cool there is a clear coat. That makes sense!
-
Might be worth getting some timber themed roof racks, would complete the rustic look. My only question, when it rains etc, don't you get trails of red iron oxide getting in and around various gaps and body trim pieces?
-
Good job. Hard to go wrong with an E36 coupe!
