  1. What a pitty. Hmm rear window switches... do those rear 1/4 windows open electronically like they do in E46s?
  2. Heh, a friend of mine got the game the other day, had a go of it today. Bit disappointed really, could see myself getting very bored, very quickly. Ah well! .
  3. It has to be said, these older phones were beautifully made, the plastics, and general feel was made to last, guess that is why 1/2 off them still work even though they are 1-2 decades old... The last three Nokias have all lasted 1-2 years, and generally feel like a crappy cheap product. My dad back in the day had a few Moto Startacs on Bellsouth, what a net mobile, particularly with the coloured screen numbers! .
  4. Well you should have some fun in that. What's the mileage on it? If it's really high, changing the tranny fluid can actually make things worse... Edit, I would agree with Ian above, the suspension is more than likely going to need a good spend of money on it. Trouble I found with my E34 was after doing some repairs on the suspension, it emphasized the age in the next part so that then needed attention. As you can imagine it got rather expensive, and the job was only 1/2 done so I figured it was best to flick the car up on TM before I went completely broke.
  5. Agreed. I am with Andrew on this too.
  6. What is the size of the skid pan?
  7. Yeah just get a Remus from Jason, I got one for my 325i E36, sounds quite good.
  8. Welcome. That looks to be a very nice car.
  9. Well, with high mileage car, a good deal of suspension parts, drive links etc will need replacing if they haven't already been done. If it's been a motorway driven car, then it will naturally be better than one thats done low speed down driving over bumps and what not. In my old 540i 1993, which had 251,000ks I found it needed a fair bit of work (even though it was very tidy), from memory I spent around $1500 on the front suspension and engine/trans mounts, but doing that amplified the sloppy drive shaft bearing, and rear subframe/rear links so I was going to need to do all those as well, accept that was going to be at least another $2000 in parts + lots of labor in the garage. Ultimately it's why I sold the car. Never bothered doing all that, I figured it just wasn't worth it in the end for what is still a somewhat slow car, even though it was a 540i

Lol. I give you six months before you're back into a BMW.
  11. Admirable Lance, hope the second conversion goes according to plan!

    Overheat

    Go to a professional mechanic...
  13. Depends what you want to spend. I've thought about doing this with an iron block M50B25, but with a Whipple twin screw or Harrop 4 lobe roots superchager. Pricey, but they would get the best results. Might not be as cost effective as a turbo setup though has more appeal in my eyes. Old Jag/Eaton chargers run way to hot from my experience. Avoid
  14. That is the most vile and hideous thing I have ever seen.

Gee, in that case I hope it goes inside an earth quake proof garage!

    GINA

That is blatantly a Z4 made like an umbrella... Oh right it's a Chris Bangle concept!

    LSD cost

Any companies sell E36 Mid case LSD diff centers off the shelf? I've been looking around but haven't had much luck. After something high, 3.5-4.0+

Hmmm. I'd rather have every M car that existed than one of those, with lots of spare change. At least you could enjoy those.. rather than having this overly expensive show case car parked in a garage 99% of the year. I wonder who owns it.. Also, yeah Eric T makes some excellent articles, my favorite Herald writer. .
  19. If it's real or not, the factor silver looks better IMO. Why not get it painted an orginal BMW blue?
