If you could get a photo Paul that would be great!

Yea I thought right above the tail lightbulb holder would be a good spot to wire it in. Confident enough to work out the connections etc to get it working. The main thing I was looking for was the way the towbar wire is routed. As euroriffic says his E36 had a grommet already. I have had a look on mine but can't seem to find anywhere to get it from the outside to the inside of the boot. Thanks Again.

Hi Guys, Got myself a towbar for light trailers to help in moving etc. Hardware is simple enough to install just wondering if anyone has a PFL E30 with a towbar that is all wired up and if they could show me where the wiring is run and where it is connected to etc. I have searched for wiring diagrams but I can't find anything helpful. Thanks for any help in advance, Andrew

What is it with cars in Palmy?
kevinator9 replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
Is it possible for Palmy to get worse? The number of cars I see around that make me cry is ridiculous. I am also fond of Mercs (W124's) and there are so many of those running around scraping the road covered in chrome. One even has air bags. Psh psh psh. I have also come to the conclusion that the chicks down here have cars that have better taste/quality than the guys. -
All gone

Charles. It just cost me $26.50 to get a towbar from Christchurch to Palmerston North Mainfreight depot to depot. So I would assume around the same price. Lucan. As long as Charles is good with it I can probably send the tie rod (there is only one) in normal post. Andrew

Hi Guys, ZF power steering rack with the following stamped on the side. 7832 955 110 252566 0284. Comes with hoses and one tie rod too. No idea on condition or what car it was from sorry got given it along with a pair of front struts but I don't need it sitting in my garage. Might as well pass on the freebie. If anyone knows what that may be for would you be able to let me know (I have searched realoem etc but no luck) so I can accurately tell people what it is for. The only thing I can find about it is this translated page: http://translate.google.co.nz/translate?hl...ved=0CDEQ7gEwAg Points to this part number: 32131127737 Which is, I believe, a 325i power steering rack. If I have to ship it I'll ask you to cover the shipping is all. Tie Rod Hoses Rack

Alpina followed by Style 5.

Thanks for the tips guys. A general clean up and overhaul seems to have fixed the problem. New dizzy rotor and cap, new oil and filter, new air filter, new sparkplugs and new exhaust means it is running super smooth and quiet!

A Black E30 Touring Tech2 on SH1 between Taupo and Turangi heading south on Saturday afternoon. Then a Green E30 Touring Tech 2 on Te Ngae Rd in Rotorua heading out of town this morning. Didn't think they were so common!

Hi All, Having a few running oddities with the M10, wondering if anyone might know what's up. Here is a list of symptoms I have come up with to help as best I can describe. -When idling the idle is around 600~650RPM and surges every so often. It seems to me as though it surges low instead of high (is in it chokes and starts to die then recovers). -From a stand still if I accelerate slowly it is ok, if I accelerate moderately or quickly the car will hesitate off the line and then go. -When accelerating from 0~2500RPM the surge still occurs and the car seems to be held back a little and hesitate. It is fine over 2500~3000RPM. If I floor it, it seems to accelerate very cleanly. -If I force the car to shift down a gear through the auto-box while I am braking I will occasionally hear it backfiring out the exhaust. -I had an issue with an old battery and had to jumpstart a few times. This caused on one occasion a huge backfire which blew apart my brand new exhaust. I now have a brand new battery in the car and haven't had to jumpstart it again. Starts first time every time now. Not sure if this is an underlying issue or was an issue due to the old dead battery. That's about the jist of it. It is getting a service over the weekend and the start of next week. Oil change, new sparkplugs, all belts are being replaced, radiator flush, front crankseal is being replaced, tappets/valves are being adjusted and the distributor cap and rotor are being replaced. I would like to know where to look to sort out the funny running so when I get a new exhaust it doesn't get destroyed. Just needs a tune up? In my very limited knowledge it seems to me as though it could be running fairly rich. Thanks.

Hi Guys, My indicator has stopped working (although the park light still makes it half light up for some odd reason) and I get that fast blink. Took the suspect one out and someone has cut off the plug and connected bare wires to a new bulb holder. Anyone have a plug for the front indicators? Looks like so: http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?q=e30+light...x=121&ty=48 Thanks.

Hey Bryce, I have the same seats (pacific blue) and found the generic repco seat covers work ok. I have settled for them at this stage (only $50) because I have a few thin spots that I am afraid of worsening. I took about an hour to fit them and the "PU Foam" stuff seems to mould well to the shape. If you tuck it into all the cracks it works ok. I would however find ones with separate headrest covers as can be seen they are the tacky bit. They aren't perfect but they will protect the seats. The back bench seat is perfect no problems there but with the coupe seat handles and slight bucket style I don't think there will be any covers that work perfectly on the fronts. http://imageshack.us/g/809/sunp0003h.jpg/

New seat covers. No rips in the seats but after seeing the number of E30 seats torn to shreds I don't want that happening to my sport seats. Also booked the old girl in for a radiator flush, valve adjustment, and crankshaft seal replacement.

Parents have been messed around like this before except it was over TradeMe. Guy won the auction and came to pick the car up but wouldn't do change of ownership that day. My dad said he couldn't take the car unless he did (didn't want to get stuck in a situation of paying a speeding ticket) but the guy threatened with action saying the auction was legally binding so he could buy the car regardless. I now make sure it is a condition of sale to change ownership on purchase. Take it into NZTA they should be able to sort it but legally you're still responsible for the car I believe.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=52&fg=10Numbers 1,2,3 and 4 from the above diagram. And that's for the drivers seat. Got a passenger side set last time but that already has the covers
-
No problem if possible could be useful yea. Just not sure if the covers are the same as the sports bucket seats which is what I have.
-
If no one grabs them would I be able to take a few bits from the drivers seat? I'm after the plastic covers that hide all the mechanisms if you're up for it. Thanks, Andrew
