    E39 540i AFM?

Mosen Euro Parts in Hamilton had a wrecked M62 engine so would probably have one
  2. Not sure how much its worth but figure id put it out there I fixed a battery drain issue on my old's E46, turned out to be the climate control panel. Everything worked fine but must of had an excessive draw once the car was shut off. They used to have to manually turn off the HVAC system before turning off the car otherwise the battery would drain overnight.

    FS: 18" Breyton's

My old lady is selling these if anyone is interested. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/wheels-tyres/alloy-wheels/auction-1055834238.htm
  5. Sounds like the M30. Get the E34 Bentley manual if you dont know what you are doing. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=658075
  6. +1 for NZAD rotors. Ive run them on road and track on various cars without issue.
  7. The M30 has studs so no need for any sealant. I only use it in places that would normally have a thin paper gasket like waterpump, timing covers etc.
  8. Im not knocking it but i doubt that. Auckland has some sweet and very entertaining meets\cruises back in the heyday. I dont find predominantly show n shine type meets that interesting myself but its better than nothing no doubt.
  9. Depends if its running factory gear and what the condition is like, most E34's ive bought have been running cheap or old shocks along with average at best suspension bushings etc.
  10. If you paying for labor it is but the E34 has alot less to components to replace than its sucessors.
  11. Quite happy with Pagid S sport brake pads, excellent street pad and were more than fine for the ocassional trackday. Around $330 from racebrakes for an E34
  12. You could buy another early 540i for 3.5k. Id never buy vanos M62 540i again, its the problem child . A pre facelift M62 with facelift kit etc on it would be the ideal.

    e30 m325

To be fair it would probably do that regardless of what tyres are on it.
  14. Quality tools last forever.
  15. Its a cost cutting era built BMW so cheaper to put traction control in. As much as i like putting down a smoke screen without any real effort it desperately wants one.
  16. I ordered some thru Capital Tyres here in Hamilton. Had to come from Auckland tho.

    E39 540i

The 540i to me is a good deal if everything else checks out, the timing guides have been done which is the major weak point on 4.4L V8's. Its also non vanos which is always a good thing. 530i V8 is waste of time imo, not enough power for the complexity of engine, id take a E34 535i over one anyday.
  18. Not sure where you got that info and what a "glued" oil pan if suppose to mean but if issues are found it you can use that to decrease the price even further if need be. Hard to really judge the car without checking it out and driving it.
  19. For people who dont care its a very good value for money M5. If everything has been done properly and its good working order then i wouldnt have a problem with it. Probably easier to sell than most M5's due to the price.
  20. Guess i dont come across it much myself as always filter to lowest postage cost\price.
  21. In my experience it comes down to the seller, ive seen some very high prices for goods and some that have even seemed too cheap. I got a pair of 540i brake rotors and pads from US and shipping was only $50NZD.
  22. If by fun you mean revving the sh*t out of it because it has no torque then yes.
  23. My old 535i was the highest ive seen at about 530,000km when i sold it. One of best examples an E34 ive seen and was most likely the original engine which looked to have the head rebuild at some point.
  24. Ive got the kit i removed from a red illuminated knob around somewhere if anyone wants it
