  1. Id be surprised if it came like that from the factory but maybe it was a another E36 cost cutting measure haha.
  2. I convert every car i buy to non lock nuts and throw them in the bin, they just a pita.
  3. Mine rattles a little too but not loud enough that's its obvious
  4. Eagle

    Style 19's

Is that just the glare or are they white?
  5. Bought at 540i at turners for $1600, put it on the market for 2.2k and sold it in 2 days. Had to fix a few minor things and after a transmission fluid change it shifted like new with nearly with 221,000 on the clock. I think E34 540i's are one of the best valve for money BMW around, not alot to go wrong either unlike E39's.
  6. ^That should be basic knowledge if you a true BMW fan haha. Anything that's got a 3L 6 cyl or even worse a 3L V8 in those cars above isn't worth getting.
  7. Shitty headunit was pissing me off along with not being to change time etc so I have put the original monitor back in. Thanks to Kerry @ Mosen Euro Parts for a good price on it
  8. Yeah but once you go from 318i to 540i, 328i etc you probably won't want to drive a 318i again. Nothing deluded about V8 torque, anyone whos passed a slow car on the open road in one will tell you that.
  9. Bushes are always nice but trailing arms aren't likely to be perfect being an old car,. On this car went from -1mm rear toe on both sides running std springs to -2.5mm each side after lowering. Most of my lowered E34's had 16" or 17" rims on 225\235 tyres and with my driving style the tyres have always pretty even, thats without any swapping over. I do check my pressures often, find the right pressure for the give tyre and use quality tyres too.
  10. Your right but very unlikely given the km's history
  11. They suppose to have them iirc but Ive yet to see a tamper dot come on in an E34 even after swapping coding plugs and clusters around.
  12. Be aimed more at potential buyers who might be put off by it like you mentioned
  13. Seems fine to me but you could take out the cluster and take a picture of the coding plug(should have the 7 digits on your VIN on it) if you really wanted too.
  14. Ive done weld in plates\bolts on an E30 which is basically the same as an E34. The plates\bolts and welding cost was only a few hundred iirc but i replaced the subframe and trailing arms bushes also. I did all the labour myself bar the welding. I was doing subframe bushings so i figured id do while i was there, otherwise i probably won't have bothered. Sure it could be better but i dont think your rear toe is worth the cost\effort to fix.
  15. This is apparently the error. "An error occured with the SQL server: mySQL query error: ALTER TABLE ibf_pfields_content ADD field_10 text NULL This is not a problem with the IPS Community Suite but rather with your SQL server. Please contact your host and copy the message shown above. "
  16. I have problems getting off the line in my 540i6 with 275 Bridgestone S001's, love to see this try once its charged haha.
  17. Seems my memory was fairly correct. US spec data one but same rotor dimensions it seems. 540i brakes: Front 324mm x 30mm 1-piece vented rotors Rear 298mm x 20mm 1-piece vented rotors M5 Brakes: Front 345mm x 32mm 1-piece vented rotors Rear 328mm x 20mm 1-piece vented rotors Appears M5 1 piece fronts cost sightly more than 540i OEM fronts at $140NZD each which isn't expected, but OEM Floating front rotors are $300NZD each. These are overseas prices. You need M5 calipers and carriers to fit M5 rotors. I can't see any reason to have front M5 rotors on 540i.
  18. Exactly, i was just about to post the same thing. Sure the 530i handles a little and has nicer steering feel but its nothing compared to having more hp and way more torque with a V8. My E34 is nearly as fast as a 530i with its M30 engine that come out in early 80's making the M54 a pretty pathetic engine power wise, most of them are slushboxes too making the handle benefits a moot point to me.
  19. Had a guy on another forum try to signup for an account. It appears to eventually timeout after completing stage 1 of the process.
  20. Are you talking front or rear rotors? I looked at it awhile ago. If i remember the M5 front rotors were only like 1 or 2mm wider and only 2-3mm thicker The rears were bigger(20-25mm iirc) but same diameter. Rears might be worth it on the track.
  21. Two M20's=V12, 2 of just about everything actually.
  22. Ah that sucks but yeah i sure know the old gravel on a corner feeling.

    E30 options

Older than late 80's BMW seem a bit hit and miss. Ive been able to get options lists sometimes for older cars like 1984-1986 635csi's and such
  24. This. Getting a cheap good condition E36 becoming hard and harder just like E30's. I think its alot easier to get a tidy 5 or 7 series as they arent as popular and less chance f**king bubba has owned it.
  25. Good idea. So its a jap specific MKIV?.
