Yep…. had the o2 sensor plugs plugged in the wrong way round 🙃

Twistee 494 Report post Posted May 8 E60 M5 near Glenbrook today, I was quite a few cars back in the Polo and couldn't tell if it was space grey or silverstone II. Either way it looked very tidy from where I was stuck.

Twistee 494 Report post Posted May 26 2025 M5 Touring in green driving through Highland Park. First time I have seen one in person, so Darth Vader, so massive. No doubt spectacular, but I'll stick with my old knuckle dragger.
E30 325i Rag-Top 3016 Report post Posted May 26 @Twistee see a couple of posts up. Feels like a big car when you are in it due to interior space, doesn’t feel like it in terms of the driving agility.

First time I have seen one in person, so Darth Vader, so massive. No doubt spectacular, but I'll stick with my old knuckle dragger. I was invited to test drive one, so I did on Saturday. Very different car to the M3 Touring, I think it is squarely aimed at Audi RS6 owners because it has that Audi RS feel about it, drives like a 5 Series until you press a button and the thing goes into full attack mode. By comparison, my M3 Touring never tries to hide what it is, it is always goading you to drive it hard. But hold that boost paddle in the M5 and all hell breaks loose. For a 2.5 ton vehicle it certainly is rapid but as good as BMW M engineers are, eventually you run into that little thing called the Laws of Physics. The steering is surprisingly light and the car changes direction pretty well, but over bumps the car takes slightly longer (not as long as you might think but enough to notice) to settle and that is where you feel the weight. If I was so inclined I feel I could track my M3 Touring, not so much the M5 Touring, it is more of a GT car. Not necessarily a bad thing, but is it truly an M car? M3AN 4101 Report post Posted Tuesday at 04:18 AM My lord, that rear bumper/diffuser setup looks even worse than the G87 M2, they've taken the worst of that car, and given it some type of "tongue", WTF? No car has screamed out for a (large) tow-bar more than this one. Order only in black! And the front kidneys are just a soft mess that doesn't look good with the headlights or the lower intakes (both of which do look much better than the G87). A sad slide into their new design language (they call it "neue klasse"), this seems to try and straddle both, failing at each. Does this mean the G8x M3/4 are the only cars that will ever get the buck teeth grills?

Great, needs to be left extended at all times, preferably with a boat trailer or caravan attached so we don't need to see that protuberance.
