Took a look at Koni shocks and Vogtland springs I have sitting here and decided I can't be bothered crawling around in the dirt fitting them just yet, the gap up the front annoys me even though compared to some it's quite tidy, looking forward to stitching all that together though.

got a warrant today (first one after purchasing the car, and didnt get any sort of AA inspection or anything). went somewhere random. nice guys. told me it was a nice car, put it up on the hoist, checked the front suspension and steering rack, popped the hood and said wow clean, got the chassis number, checked the seatbelts and then parked it outside and put the sticker on.

fastest easiest warrant ever.

Stripped all the flaking paint off boatys valve cover, repainted it. Cleaned all the crap from the inside of it. Replaced water pump, t.stat, new alloy housing, new belts, coolant, spark plugs. Put newly painted valve cover back on with new gasket. Tomorrow will be get coils back and associated bits so can fire her up, bleed coolant system, run engine flush and replace oil and filter and should be running like a dream

Heysuse!

If I could do that in a week I'd be happy! Lol.

For once I've finally had a two day weekend! Well three in a row now. forget how good they are and what I can get achieved when your not spending the only day off hungover haha

Got everything back together, bleed coolant, new oil and filter, fixed non working fog lights. Found missing cables for missing outside air temp, hope to get a replacement and plug next week. Fixed broken wire on plug for coolant level sensor, new terminals for aux fan so that runs again. Fitted replacement brake ducts aswell.

Drives a lot nicer now with working rear shocks and new mounts.

Just started running Hawk HPS on the front... less dust than OEM it seems but I have no objective measurements.

Got the V8 E36 back on the road in standard Motorsport suspension spec with a silky smooth 4 speed automatic replacing the 5 speed. Goes well, now time to tidy up small things inside etc and get ready to put on the market for sale in October ;)

Lol ask Mike ^ funny that he posted just after you, I got them from him. :)

Yes, they're carbon based. Not sure of retail cost for fronts but just been quoted ~$160 for rears (gulp!).

Ouch just for rears!!!

Put new fuel pumps in my V12 E34 yesterday.

Took it to work today because my van is getting fixed (again)

Took my boss for a ride, and then it died. Very embarassing, as he has been interested in the project from day 1

knew straight away it was fuel lines back to front, have done the same thing once before.

Swapped them over and away it goes again, happy as Larry

Boring Techy bit for those interested:

Basically there are two fuel pumps, one for each bank. so the DME for each bank controls its own pump,

But when the hoses are back to front, it controls the pump for the other bank, so of course if one side needs a bit more gas than the other (happens more than you would think), it sends the signal to pump gas, but that gas ends up going to the other side, overfuelling/flooding it. THe DME for that bank cuts back and then ends up starving the first one that actually requesting more, of course this means a very slow peeter out and then die.

(Think of it a bit like feedback from a stereo when you put microphone too close etc.)

Are the pumps pwm controlled or something?

Been a good day of scoring some rarities. Scored a full racing dynamics kit for an e36, Stole the under bonnet light from the 325 and put it in the m3, changed park lights to u.s spec while I was there, just need orange lamps to finish. Oh and a set of electric rear windows for a coupe! Wank factor+++ now!!

Also got a new tool box and gas struts for the 325.
