SmackJackTheCrackerMan 54 Report post Posted April 11, 2021 I painted the stainless steel interior pieces in a gloss back. Came out great, although it’s going to be a bitch to keep clean 🤦♂️

hunter 408 Report post Posted April 12, 2021 Added some low voc tape to the inside of the E39 drivers seat back to stop the very annoying squeaking that had started recently - worked a treat.

Yeah, sanded right back to the aluminium, 3 coats of etch primer, 3 coats of Acrylic gloss black wet sanded to 2000 w&d, 4 coats of 2k clear again sanded back to 2000 w&d. Then cutting compound, polished and waxed. I’ll be honest it took me nearly 2 weeks and I still haven’t finished the bits for the doors 🤦♂️

Dead Thought I'd update with some info on this car. 1 of 10 worldwide, 1 of 4 RHD, in this spec (OG on m tex) according to production numbers. Probably a handful running around that have had the interior swapped in. But as far as factory optioned cars this would be one of the rarest combinations outside of individual spec cars. Safe to say we won't be seeing another in NZ. Edited April 13, 2021 by Harper

Navin 180 Report post Posted April 24, 2021 Nothing, it's a remote software update from BMW just like the ones you get at the dealerships. These newer cars have the ability to get the updates installed remotely now but have heard of a few G20 owners in Australia and the UK having issues with the car bricking itself during installation. Great idea in theory with some of the updates you get without having to go to the dealer. Last one I got (although I had to get that one at the dealer) gave me Android Auto which was great.
E30 325i Rag-Top 2963 Report post Posted April 25, 2021 Got it a bit dirty / bit stuck on 90 mile beach You can’t quite make out all the salt and sand all over it from the photo, but it’s got into a lot of places. In all honesty, even though it’s a FWD and not xDrive, it performed pretty well on the soft stuff. I only got stuck when I did something silly and managed to get it in-stuck pretty easily. Traction control was working pretty hard on some parts, but the electronics did their stuff and got me out the other side.

Allanw 1072 Report post Posted May 15, 2021 (edited) ^^^ Actual swear words??? 🤣 I fitted the TPMS reset switch to Moniques Touran, after she had a puncture repaired... ...the switch doesn't work!😡 I didn't actually swear though - I just cracked open my keg of Rum 🤪 Edited May 15, 2021 by Allanw
euroriffic 612 Report post Posted May 15, 2021 Finally got around to replacing the ugly blue-lit Sony head unit for the factory one in the m3. Had to track down another factory stereo plug first since it was removed when the previous owner had them swapped. also added a Bluetooth receiver that plugs into the CD stacker input, so brings it into the modern age while still looking factory. Took a while to track one down as most are for the CD43 or newer. was from maakbaas.com if anyone’s interested
aja540i 1906 Report post Posted May 16, 2021 New thermostat, 4 New radiator hoses, New O rings and crush washers, 2 New radiator drain bungs, ready for new coolant! Tested the old thermostat and it seemed to work fine, but the rubber seal fell to bits as soon as it dried out so seems a good time to replace it!
Harper 558 Report post Posted May 16, 2021 (edited) Should really have made a build thread for this car, maybe one day I'll get round to writing it all up. Had the CMP topmount subframe kit + front mount extension installed @HELLBM couple weeks back. Pretty beefy unit. Should have some better photos once I get the time to lay some paint down and cut the carpets to size. Got a much needed wash too after being on daily driver duty for the last couple weeks. Then thrashed to Kawakawa and back. Getting sick of black wheels though, pilot sport 4S's on order for the new square set. Backordered until at least mid June, yikes.
