Used to be 3 times a week - Thai and Indian curries and a Mexican night. Now my wife is too ill to cook it is approx 3 lunches and 7 dinners per week

I cook most nights as I'm usually home earlier. Technically lunches as well, we take leftovers. Takeaways/dining usually in the weekends.

i have owned this house for 4.5 years, have just spent $35k here including a new kitchen, in total i have cooked maybe a half dozen times, even bbqs i provide the BMBBQ Trailer and the gas and delegate the cooking. spoilt for choice with places out around here, many places are very cheap during the week to get you in the door. Would be different if i had a partner of course.

Its just not economical to cook for one, without having to have the same thing for dinner 4 nights in the row.

I tryed the slow cooker for a bit, easy to do. Got sick of eating the same stuff for breakfast lunch and dinner for 4 days a week though. Cooking for one just isnt worth the prep and clean up time to try and make something decent. steak and mixed veges for me most nights, easy.

We own BMWs though. Only Toyota drivers have spare time to cook- we are all in the garage chasing oil leaks!

its not that i cant do it. i could, and used to frequently when i didnt have to worry about just myself, more than just one person is viable both in time and economic sence to cook at home.

these days i'd just end up with a pantry with two dozen expired packets of sprices, and a fridge full of shrivelled brocolli, capsicums and funky looking meat. if i wanted to live amoungst nature projects i would have become a biologist.

as i said above, spoilt for choice around where i live.

I do at lest 3 these days, used to be 7 night a week until, new job and baby / toddler. meas the mrs is at home more and we tend to  eat earlier now.

On weekend it's all me, especially when the BBQ needs deploying.

Personally i love it and it counts as "me" time. very relaxing

either or, depends on what im doing. i'm more proficient on the Weber Family Q than Weber kettle. got a  home made in ground fire pit too, but that's marshmallow territory so doesn't realy count :)
