Sounds like the hydraulic lifter thing, anyone had to deal with this? Usually happens if you have been doing short drives. Take it for a blast on the motorway and the tick should go away.

FWIW hold revs steady at 2800 RPM, for three minutes, allows the lifters to bleed out. According to tis.

Yep works a treat, I do 3k just to be sure. Or driving around at 50-60 in second/third if you're just commuting to give them a clean out every now and again. Sounds like the hydraulic lifter thing, anyone had to deal with this? I'm late to the party but yeah, as you've found out, revs will fix it. Cruising around the neighbourhood at 50 in second for 5 mins tends to do it for me if I don't have space/time to stretch her legs at higher speeds. 12 hours ago, KwS said: UK import, and been manual swapped, so take from that what you will. It does have PDC and cruise though. Ugh, halogens are the least of the concerns then. Rust. Avoid unless it was imported young.

Now.... was the 'dream car' the E87 or SW20 🤔 He's lucky the BMW took most of the hit. The MR2 doesn't look too bad and has decent shot of being repaired all things considered. Guy crying out about his dream car is the MR2 owner. E87's are a dime a dozen.

E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted December 3, 2022 From my experience, if you are able to swap the parts over yourself and not pay for someone to do it, that is the most economic way of doing it, rather than buying the parts new or used even. Pretty much paid my way through Uni doing that on old MkI and MkII Escorts.
