Z3 Coupe

Is that factory or has someone flogged the motor?

Am interested if it can be complied. Pretty certain it can't be.

M54?

(and can it be complied?)

Once it falls into the 20 years old category then yes.
However, it’s 20 years from date of first registration up to when it arrives in NZ. So this car is most likely just inside the 20 years, so massive fail there.

That said there are a number of compliance centres that will pass any old crap!

Bit expensive if it's not got the S54.

Still picking up these non motorsport ones would be fun if the price is right.

Throw a LS2 6.0 V8 in one! ❤️

Seems crazy price for a uncomplied example but that being said its still a dream of mine and I suppose its. Probably not far off what it would cost to Import.

Its the M52TUB28 engine.

Has camber plates in place of the strut mounts.

Don't know what the silver square items on the front of both strut towers are.

Over priced for what it is with the 2.8 L engine and auto box.

The E89 is a totally different car compared to the Z3 coupe. Two generations of development in fact. Both of these cars are priced at well over the upper limit of value for money, IMO.

What's a proper shoe worth? $55k?

Aside from the body shape, it's an auto M52, LHD surely not near $35k even if it was all registered?

I'm guessing headlight upgrade/ angel eyes or something?

Arh, more modifications to get through compliance.

Yeah, looks like hid ballasts, so that's a wof/compliance fail. Same with the tail lights, won't pass when black.

I don't think I've ever had a WoF where they lift the hood but I agree lights and camber plates are an issue.

But hey, if I'm reading the sticker correctly the oil in it is only 5 years old!

The one on TM with BBS CHR's and KW coilovers really tickles my fancy.

They should, checking the stamped VIN/Chassis number is part of a WOF. They would also know by being blinded when they try to check the beam pattern.

I think you can get pretty reasonable retrofit kits now that have a safe beam pattern and look externally identical to standard projectors. I'm not saying that makes them legit, but some are hard to detect and that wasn't the case some years ago.

I didn't know about the VIN check thing, I wonder if they have to lift the bonnet if you can see the VIN through the windscreen?
