The shouldn’t’ve sold it thread

I had a yellow Mazda RX4 Coupe for many years. 13B 5 Speed. It was a pretty tidy car. Saw it on TM a few years ago for $45k.

Plenty of cars I flipped when I was younger that would be worth heaps now, Mk I and II Escorts, early Cortinas and the like. Would have required a lot of work to keep them going and/or restored.

Of the cars I owned the 205 GTi Pug is the one I miss, fun car with lots of happy memories.

Also all the tools I sold when I left the Uk to come to NZ, as “I won’t be working on cars anymore” Ha!

E60 M5 ? but it went to the right person who is taking fantastic care of it! ?

And not one of mine, but a family member had a late 70’s Toyota Corolla SR Coupe in the middle of the 80’s - now that would be a cool ‘Rolla to have today!

I had the only NZ new Evo IV and a completely unmolested Tommi Makinen that I suspect would both be worth more now than when I got rid of them. But that's not necessarily a reason to keep them, or regret moving them on.

What about the one you didn't get? I paid more for my M3 than I could have picked up an E30 M3 for at the time. Welp.

I didn't buy the following when I had the money. Genuine SLR5000, RT Charger with retrofitted 6 Pack, VG Valiant Pacer Hardtop, RX3 Coupe. There are a few others but those would be the pick and from memory none were over $5k; a bit in the 80's but I spent more on lesser cars back then.

@m325i Nice, and the GTiR (!!!)- Japanese cars were so wild in the 90s... what happened?

Read up on the Japanese financial crisis.  It f**ked them for decades.

Oh boy I found this while i was cleaning out a computer I sold.

@BreakMyWindow and I were lucky enough to be around for the Renaissance  of import drag racing.

This was my Mitsubishi Libero GT, DECEVR was the plate.  I forget all the details, but it was somewhere in the 300kw at the wheels territory and running low 11's, heart breakingly close to 10's, i think 11.1 or 11.3, somewhere around there.

In this video I accidently turned up at the Muscle Car drags haha, wiped the floor with a few, dropped lips all around.

I know the owner of that car in the UK. It was offered to the club for a song, but as he was the 'pres' he snapped it up for himself, then ruined it with that awful paint and american wheels.

Mine was that color maybe a bit softer but had original wheels and Firestone wide Oval tires.

Not REAL sad to have said goodbye to my '94 Pug 205gti-c, but I did own it for 13 years and is currently the longest I have ever owned a car (BUT, owned my Aprilia m/cycle for 20 years and counting. 1 owner......me).     Sadness mitigated by its replacement  --  1985 Toyota Levin ae86.

Another one to add to the list, my E46 330d Touring, 6-speed manual. Loved that car.

What does the "-c" bit mean had a couple of 205 GTIs but not familiar with the -c designation?

the "-c" stands for Classic. Peugeot made 30 limited edition cars to mark the very end of 205 production in Australasia. Fancy paint, leather interior and a nice plaque but no other enhancements. Most of the 30 stayed in Aus but a handful made it here. And my number 26 of 30 has been sent back to Perth.......

One of my best sorted cars.  Amazing ride and handling, 6 speed, 3 litre flat 6.  Hard to believe this was 10 years ago:

Also just looking at pics of my E55 and M5 make me cringe with remorse.

I couldn't sell my M3 in 2008, when I moved to Europe, for $17k. Now I thank my blessings.

I wish I hadn’t sold my 1999WRC blue, Subaru WRX STI V-Limited.
Faster and lighter than the regular 1999 spec, manual air con flap in the roof, manual centre diff control. Light incredibly fast with shorter gear ratios than a normal V5 sti.

Considering what they are worth now amd I sold it for 16k. It makes me a bit sad. But mostly cause it was one of the most engaging cars I’ve ever driven.

Vape vent. I had a V4 - fast car.

In terms of value regret, I sold my Mtech 1 to an esteemed member for $5k
