The Very Wet Cars Thread

Recommended Posts

Thought I would make a thread to display some of the more interesting flooded cars that have/will be coming through the insurance auctions over the next few weeks. Pretty devastating how badly some of them got flooded.

NZ New, Z4 Coupe:

Far out what's amazing with this is they show the before and after pictures of cleaning it up. Just shows how a completely flooded car can look normal, thus the risk of buying flood damaged cars.

Yeah saw those two, absolute bummer. I know the previous owner of the Alpina, he's pretty bummed, was a very well taken care of car and only sold it a few months ago. Looks to have been well submerged, looks a total loss.

Wonder what money the M3 might go for and what of it is salvageable. Could be a good project.

That M3 is pretty sad too. ~100K km, 2005, factory manual. Nice spec too. Very nice car. Definitely going to be some interest in it even if it's just for parts.

A couple of screenshots from when it was last listed for sale in August 2022.
Sad to loose one of the better examples from our roads.

A pair of Porsche's. Ironically, clean car rebate does not apply.  https://www.trademe.co.nz/4023286625

These were up for sale prior to the floods too for $15K! Feel for the owner - no one will touch those. Probably just set for scrap.
Good it’s been disclosed they were flooded.

Bit of a special one this. Can't see any signs of water ingress and apparently engine still runs as well, wonder what's up with it.

If you've seen Mat Armstrongs videos on YouTube you'll know how hard it is repair/rebuild a 911
