Centre caps just in, must admit I think they look awesome. Not too fond of the fake carbon fibre look but I didn't have an option and it can't be seen from a distance. I also thought the lettering was going to be gold but stoked to find that it's silver. Complete...

You should really be looking at doing an H1 calculation and submit this to the HCC for approval. You'll probably get away with doing the schedule method in this case. Let us know how you get on.

Just joined last night, don't know how I haven't discovered this before. Currently have two e30s, manual 325i sedan and a 318 coupe. Will start throwing some money at the coupe in the coming months but still undecided in which way to head. Would love a turbo m20 but gets pretty expensive for not huge hp gains. Would be interested to hear what conversions other members have done. Thanks James. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey purchased my first bmw, 2008 e91 320i joined up to check info out when a problem occurs, at the moment car has done 120xxxkms and looks like the cats are stuffed, so was wondering what people do, change them out or get some straight pipes with the o2 sensors stuck in... interesting to know. My old man just purchased a brand new m3 sedan also, bloody nice machine. thanks all Adam

Welcome James, nice E30s especially the 325i. What else have you got planned for the coupe?

Let's just say I felt sorry for that car. Beautiful car but could have been so much better if the current owner had looked after it. You could tell it had been neglected and it was a time bomb waiting to go. But it still drove very nicely, smooth operator came to mind right away. 530i vs 540i mate, such a tough decision. I am gonna go check out a 540i tomorrow. I feel as though it give a sense of bigger space in the cabin. Also, ventilation and enjoying the sun on my face.

Hi and welcome. What made you choose a 320i?

Thanks for the advice. At this stage it seems a bit over the top to drop that kind of coin into a car that was purchased for $2k. I've worked as a painter before overseas and the prices here are more than double what we used to charge so just wanted a bit of a second opinion. I think I'll look into a diy job and "invest" in some new tools. Can do a bit of practicing on bumper covers and what not until ready to spray the top.

This thread should just be killed, its so out of date.

Good work man. I think a lot of us have spent well over a cars "market worth", especially on older cars like the e28. If it's the car you want, who cares? I'd rather have my e28 over most cars worth much more. Glad it's going again for you.

++yay. I too remember your thread, really stoked you've gotten it sorted. Over the next few years no doubt that $3k will pay you back in spades - it's not much in the scheme of things. Some people spend that on wheels any tyres, and most spend easily triple that in first years depreciation on a new car. Looking forward to seeing more of your e28.

Apparently everyone likes the colour , wasn't quite sure about the colour when I bought it but it certainly stands out . Looks good in the sun. Paint code is Olivin .

Had a Tesla Model S for the weekend. Went on a road trip up to a massive cars and coffee meet (2000-2500 cars). Tesla is amazing. Loved every bit of it. From the Auto Drive feature to the always there torque. Didn't miss an exhaust note the entire drive. 200+ miles to a charge. Charges for free in about 45mins to an hour at well placed stations. We did about 470miles and 80% of that it drove itself. I just sat there looking around. Was strange. Would happily own one as my daily driver. And the petrol burner for the track only.

Sorry dude, matte paint just ruins BBS's IMO. Bloody good wheels for the money though

Sam from OCD here. $160 is a great price but I would be questioning the quality. In my eyes it all comes down to your expectation and budget. You might find that the level of quality you get for what you pay your mate is exactly what you are after. Theres a place in the market for every 'level' of cut and polishing and grooming. To give you an idea I can do a cut polish and wax in 5 hours and make a car look a lot better if I wanted to - but it's not my game. We recently corrected Martins E39 M5 (check project threads on bimmersport). It took approx 1 hour for initial wash down, 2 hours for clay barring and decontamination, 11 hours or so of cutting the paint, another 2 hours of refinement polishing and then probably another 2 hours for final wash down, sealant and wax. You wouldn't catch me spending almost 20 hours on a car and charging $160 . On top of that we use three different size machines to polish as many areas as possible, polishes from Germany, waxes from Korea etc etc... But in terms of cost our RRP for that service is $749 (including a full interior and exterior detailing). My advice would be to really have a good think about what your expectation is. Do you want to improve your car or do you want as close to a show car as possible? Also, if you do the show car route do you have the time, knowledge and resources to properly maintain that finish too? Sorry for the long post! Feel free to PM me if you have any more specific queries in regards to anything car care related
