I think it would be worth it. It’s a brilliant car. The gearbox prices will slowly keep increasing so might as get it done now than say in 4-5 years when the parts will be more difficult to find and labour costs will go up.

Interesting to see the prices of 318i autos in the UK market. Most are starting to go into the 10,000 sterling mark asking price. Maybe it’s the winter season but E30s seem to have gone into hibernation from trademe.

That old ‘Black Friday deal’ trick. Put the prices up leading up to the sale and on the day show a big discount. PB tech has done this a few times.

I would recommend the Cayman 3.4 over the Boxster and one in manual. Might get lucky and find one for $40k. But will probably have to budget for IMS repairs. The vin (WBABD52020PM09452) comes up as a Left hand drive. But also as a National version Australia and radio Oceania.

Bonnet has a bit of clear coat fading. And front bumper has definitely been in a few scraps with steep driveways and lots of stones. The rest of the body needs a good cut and polish to get rid of the swirls.

This will be my daily and it needs a bit of work body wise. But it’s a straight six NA BMW and that’s all that matters. It’s Monaco blue with grey leather. German made and was once used as a display car by BMW in Germany (apparently).

Yep the F20 with the Msport option is a sure winner but that engine is pretty basic. A 130i would be awesome as well. But the shape is not as nice as an E46 coupe.

I think the 2JZ is cool - because it’s different but the body kit ruins it IMO. It just doesn’t suit an Euro. But hey - people are going gaga over RWB Porsches. Each to their own. For $75k I would rather get an E24 M6. Or even an S54 powered E30 could be had with change in hand.

E92 325i? Gorgeous shape especially a vert would be a lot of fun during summer. 130i? Z4 coupe or even a soft top 3.0si variant? or... an E30?

I am starting to feel this way a bit too. $50k = E46 M3/Z4M coupe money. But I feel an E30 M3 is not worth $80k or that houses in Manurewa are not worth $1m but the demand is there and that’s what counts at the end of the day.
