  1. I hadn't looked at the DTMs - and yes they do look good Yes the M5 was a very good deal - the seller has a number of performance vehicles and other priorities came up so it made sense for him. As he has also explained on the other thread he is also planning for his next experience and an E39 M5 looks like candidate #1 I totally wrestled with the purchase - 'Sensible Pete' vs 'Live life like you meant it Pete' Guess who won!!!
  2. 18" or 19" is good on the e60. you can pick up style 123s like mine cheap but you should prob go for some BBS style wheels or some e60 Motorsport wheels if you can wait for them to show up. Crap on the ticket ?
  3. I had mine done on the X5 (by TidyCar) and it was a huge improvement - $150 but no clear coat - they didn't think clearcoating was a good plan for some reason. Anyway, as of today I'm the proud owner of an E60 M5 - Silverstone II with black leather and Alu trim. Epic and ridiculous vehicles. Time to sell my 545i!
  4. Good luck with the job Jeremy!
  5. Hey Ethan and welcome - nice looking E36 - great colour and the 68s go with it well! Look forward to meeting in person.
  6. That seems a pretty reasonable cost including some big rotors. Nice.
  7. Having driven one around a wee bit now I think the sound is fantastic at moderate RPM and downshifts sound great. The high pitched thing only happens when you rev the sh*t out of it (which I haven't done). Would like to hear the Audi tho!
  8. Dude! You're welcome to return to the Mainland I like it here! But your comments on Jville drivers is perhaps not wrong - and the double roundabouts contribute to the problem ; and Ngaio does have very narrow roads and anywhere with houses stuck against hillsides can have damp issues - and Welly has a lot of hills!
  9. Hey Dan - welcome to BimmerSport We've got a road trip on the 26th and I need to organise a coffee meet soon too ....
  10. I think Jville area is a good balance if you need access to both the CBD and the Hutt. Good access to bus and train to the CBD, and renting shouldn't be horrific. One of the good things about Welly (compared to Akld) is the shortish commutes - and that means avoiding the rush hour traffic from the Hutt in the morning and back out there in the PM/
  11. What were the results of the check up Logan?
  12. Looks waaaaaaay better with the wheels back to how they should be. Like the wood tone contrast on the interior. Were the lights re-clear coated or just restored? Heard opinions both ways...
  13. Right - so load-through = flatter seat!

Wow - that is in impressive original condition!!!! Picture drive by for posterity ....
  15. Does look v tidy - GLWS Charl!
  16. According to @BreakMyWindow this is an member's car . ... and it does look very nice in anthracite. 2000 - with 145KMs on it and asking price of $28K ONO. Seems reasonable. Love the 2-tone leather interior.
  17. I don't what the story is - seems almost random. Here's a 2000 with the flatter seat design: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1259032804.htm but some later (2002) cars like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1266480856.htm still have the bulge! Must be some explanation ....
  18. @treone can you paste the full spec details in here from http://www.bimmer.work/?
  19. Hey Greg - this is an interesting direction - what's prompting the move to the diesel LCI? Towing? Economy? Don't put petrol into a diesel one of my colleagues did this with his Alfa :\ Doh! I think most well specced E60s have Dynamic Drive - mine does as well as active steering. Hmm - just noticed from the vehicle spec I have the Prof HiFi (Logic 7 setup) which explains why the sound system is so good. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the audio in my X5.
  20. If I was getting an E39 of any type I'd want a later model one with the flatter rear seat back - the older ones like this have the big bulge in the middle which would be uncomfortable for person #5 (and I have 5 people in the family). It's one thing I like about the E60 - rear seat is good for three. When I too k a mid-2000s Audi S4 for a spin I was grinning - then sat in the middle of the back seat and it was an immediate 'no way' - damned uncomfortable!!!
  21. OEM Bluetooth installed by someone like EuroSurgeon is pushing towards $1K from memory - I make do with a unit that clips on the visor - and I can switch it between my 545i and X5 that way too
