3 pointsHi guys, the Ferrari Owners Club NZ are doing a charity run for the Gastro Intestinal Cancer Institute of NZ with some epic cars in attendance. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=5414879 I'll be driving the 575 for those who may be interested in a cheaper ride, but the Enzo or LaFerrari would be a once in a lifetime thing!

3 pointsSeeding in the wrong area, at the wrong time with the wrong partner who has different expectations with the seeding programme can cause catastrophic results to your life further down the track, and effect your ability to drive competitively in the competitive area or even sedately in an urban area in a motor vehicle .... the results of making the correct decisions as life goes on is in your hands
-
3 pointsI am not sure what seeding is other than a spelling mistake... something to do with gardening? But. I would disagree that speeding over 110kph is dangerous at all in a modern performance car with a competent driver.

2 pointsIt would really depend on how much you put into it Steve. I'm considering selling mine as my interests have diversified. I'd like to see at least 10k for mine

2 pointsIt was not withdrawn, I hear he was offered big money from one of the top local BMW race teams (can't name names) and sold it elsewhere. A shame, I wanted whatever brakes it has on it, if they can brake that much horse power they must be awesome. Thinking Carbon Ceramic at the very least, possibly Titanium Nickel Coated for less BHP loss to the front wheels.

2 points286BHP when new and considered a Supercar. Scary how little that is these days when a stock Holden Commodore has more power. I would be calling Brent Hartage and asking where he found the extra ponies in his, would have to get it up there!!

1 pointHello, I have been a member here for 7 years but have yet to own a BMW! Looking to change that now. I am looking for a really nice E30, and am willing to pay for it. Preferably: - 325i, but will consider 323i/318i too. - Manual (a must) - Low ks.. relatively - Stock standard (or very subtle tasteful mods) - Service history would be nice - Body must be in good condition (ie. no rust or damage) - Everything else in relatively good condition (for its age) I may be dreaming, but if you are out there, send me a PM or reply here. If you are wondering who its going to, I am a car and driving enthusiast who loves daily driving Euros. I have owned: Mercedes 190E 2.3, Mercedes 320E, Porsche 944, Porsche 944 Turbo, Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9, VW Golf VR6. I service and work on my own cars (up to a certain difficulty). I like to keep them stock or close to it. Thanks for reading!

1 pointSpotted a nice Silver jap import e39 540i Motorsport in Papakura last night out side Satay Noodle House (Satay Supreme for me), was siting on BBS CH reps, had some detailing, M colours in the grill and a trade-me black and white BMW badging. Overall looked very clean and looked after / loved. Was realisation that the facelift E39 Motorsport in the right colour (Silver, Red or Blue) is a timeless car.. as are BBS CH's. Well done sir, I did see you get out but didn't want to be that awkward guy that starts up a conversation about your car... that can go a few ways, they either think you are gay, you are awesome car enthusiast and want to chat, they get embarrassed and don't want to talk... or they just give you a bank look and don't realise what they are driving.

1 pointMy torrents seed at nearly the speed of light... thanks to Slingshot. On topic though, if you are a person of considerable heft such as I, an E46 is many times tighter than an E90. and on that basis, the E90 triumphs for practicality. otherwise, the E46 just seems much more true to the straight six ethos.

1 pointGST threshold at the moment is $400NZD _including_ shipping. Anything above that take the total NZD (incl shipping) and x 1.15 = your amount incl GST. That doesnt account for customs handling fees, but thats why you use a non third world carrier like DHL or FedEX as they have customs agents in NZ landing depots. Instead of paying NZ customs for tax on top of tax mis 'handling fees' . even so .. all of this for top end tires is exponetionally cheaper than the importers here. Which seems to be the case with a lot of importers these days. I love it when you can just go-around these days.

1 pointOne of the most interactive cars I have driven in a long time was a old Peugeot 205, it was a $900 car, but so involving an fun at relatively low speeds, we are taking within the seed limit. In my RS, and I love my RS, I have to sit between 130 and 150kph on a backroad to get that same thrill, and the Police don't like that. Steering feel is there and its still tactile, but you just find yourself doing very silly things that you simply wouldn't in a normal car, its all very anti social. I think the E46 could still be enjoyable at much lower speeds... that is soul. Good post. A direct experience I had was jumping in the Toyota GT86, not many affordable cars with that much feedback and enjoyment. Not fast at all but very nice to drive at relatively low speeds. The E90 with the aids off didn't feel crazy to me, was still a heavy old reassuring BMW to drive.. I could see how you could put it into something backwards though, I changed to third mid sweeper at a decent speed (top of second) and it wanted to step out on me. It somehow wasn't that polished, still raw enough to give you a semi, especially that engine. IMHO you could not go wrong with either and they will both be as enjoyable.

1 pointI know that it was just an example, but a 458 feels pretty damn special not matter what speed you are "exploiting" it at.
-
1 pointThey are really good, have purchased a few sets. Some have arrived in less than a working week.. Look out for what they have on special also, have seen some killer deals over the years, I once got a set for around quarter the local cost.

1 pointA 2001 Touring advertised at 16.5k... I wonder what a 2002 Touring might be worth? (Even if it has covered 7x as many kms... )

1 pointWhy does an e46 get a 4 star ANCAP safety rating when it previously had a 5 star rating & and a 2015 Suzuki Swift which failed its independent crash test result get a 5 star ANCAP rating? I know the answer to this .. and it has nothing to do with safety.

1 pointPeople need to stop using such an elitist bigot as a role-model for the anti-PC brigade who apparently believe he says "what we all think." He's fallen on his own sword and it has been coming for a long time. He needed to go and nobody is surprised. Just like Paul Henry who in the coming months will crash and burn for the 3rd time because generally the public don't like the out-of-touch.

1 pointMy personal opinion of Clarkson has been severely diminished after this. Assuming what is in the media is true, you don't treat people you work with like that; I don't care who you are. It's disgusting and I think it's a disgrace that he's playing the victim when he's been the author of his own demise. He's the reason Top Gear (in it's current form) is now no more.
