2 pointsOh I know the one you are talking about now. Nice car. I do hope that the owners of these cars are pulling their airbox out and cleaning them on a regular basis ... the amount of crap and blow by that these carbon airbox collect despite having a good BMC filter and drain is almost mind blowing!! If any owner needs a know how of how to do this without damaging your airbox PM me ... I can pretty much remove and install these with my eyes closed now.

2 pointsAnd Mod335's car goes hard. If it were me, I would take it where ever Suresh has, that way you know you are dealing with people who have done the work and know what is involved. They will be able to install stuff twice as fast without breaking trim etc..

1 pointVery happy to add another bmw to my garage. It's a 1970 e3 2800. Has been sitting since 1989, luckily the rego is on hold and it still has the original plates. I'm planning to restore it and paint the original green. Got it for an awesome price. I have always wanted a classic car with carburetors and this is perfect. Can't wait to pick it up this weekend ☺

1 pointHey folks, Just thought I'd leave this here... Made this clock for my Dads birthday today, first attempt at one and first attempt at engraving. I think my engraving needs some work and for the next one I think I'll find a different clock insert as this one needs to be removed from the bearing cups to change the battery/time. The paint was supposed to be stainless steel but i could have just bought a can of silver for half the price... maybe I'll do satin black next. I also toyed with a style using just the rod, minus the piston. Cheers!

1 pointMike Hoskins had a fairly scathing diatribe describing Kiwi drivers just now... Essentially, he's in favour of the UK law.

1 pointI think the E38's big enough to pull off these 21 inch Alpina wheels with class so 20's will be more than fine and wont look gangsta.
-
1 pointi have 20s on my E38, 10.5 on the back and 9 on the front from memory. Looks very cool, but yes you do need to drive accordingly, avoiding potholes etc.

1 pointYup. Nothing like getting out of bed at 4:30am for a 6am start on a chilly winters morning. Personally I'd rather be doing the 10pm start and heading home at 6am.

1 pointEveryone`s engine bay looks like that in ChCh...trust me.There`s some sort of rebuild underway...

1 pointIsn't there a law "no passing on the left" in the UK ? Being pinged for lane hogging makes sense if so, as you're effectively blocking 2 or more lanes.

1 pointAs Michael said `not to difficult to replicate` with less $ than genuine. Unfortunately the end result will never be a CSL. It is sacrilege to tamper with an icon like the CSL. The better approach is to extend on the stock M3 with mods that will equal and surpass a genuine CSL. i.e 3.4/3.5 stroker,S62 or S85 powerplant with upgraded susp/brakes. As a sidenote the different engines from the `00 era that are used to repower the E46 M3 are: (S62 torque vs S54 torque makes for the best street mod/bang for buck. The S54 engine in the E46 M3 is rated at 343 hp (DIN) or 333 hp (SAE) at 7,900 rpm and 262 lb/ft of torque at 4,900 rpm. The CSL-spec S54 engine is rated at 360 hp (DIN) at 7,900 rpm and 273 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm. The E46 GTR 3,997-cc dry-sump motor produces 380 hp (DIN) at 7,000 rpm and 288 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. The S62 engine produces 400 hp (DIN) or 394 hp (SAE) at 6,600 rpm and 369 lb/ft of torque at 3,800 rpm The S65 B40 is rated at 420 hp (DIN) / 414 hp (SAE) @ 8,300 rpm and 295 lb-ft of torque @ 3,900 rpm. The S85 V10 is rated at 507 hp (DIN) / 500 hp (SAE) @ 7,750 rpm and 383 lb-ft of torque @ 6,100 rpm.

1 pointIf they were on an E39 without hub rings they'll need adapters to fit an e38. Cheap but the E38 needs staggered with at least 9s at the back IMO.
