2 pointsThe first thing I would change is the forum you subscribe to....just saying.

2 pointsGot this stuff today and it's done the job nicely. Comes with a spray bottle for application. Scrape off after about 10 minutes. I applied a second coat and used wire wool to get into the corners. Way better than the Tergo.

2 pointsYou will need 2 hoops. One just behind the guibo and the other behind the centre hanger bearing/universal. Efn ridiculous IMO !! Just some knuckle dragging pen pushing ignoramus in a non-essential government office making efn ridiculous rules. Culling is required....

1 pointI'm using PlastiKote Chrome bumper paint and I'm going to put a hard drying crystal clear enamel over the top. I'm happy with the result and it's about as close to the original finish as I could get. I'm looking forward to getting it on the car and seeing what it'll look like. I saw a nice staggered set of these advertised recently for $1000 and sold. Considering these came with 4 new tires I'm counting myself lucky.

1 pointhe got the steering wheel.. and the style 32s... and the whole car for $750 lol

1 pointWhat paint are you using - not sure if it's a trick of the light but it looks like you have a shadow chrome effect like the original finish. Nice work - will really set the car off. Love these wheels! To answer breakers question - worth what someone would pay. 750 for four good wheels maybe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1 pointLooking really sharp Dave, how long per wheel you reckon? Hold that, checked your other thread in wheels

1 pointMy rubber mounts on the oil filter housing were gone so I had to sort this asap. There is a high risk involved by driving the car if both mounts are gone. The general layout is like this. Called BMW asked for price. $90 for the set. I said f@@k that I will check local after market ones. Mount Shop Penrose. In stock $40 for the set. I chose on purpose to go one size up on size to make it bullet proof. Original mount is 20 x 20 with M6 male studs Problem is the bottom stud is quite short and once the rubber goes it's a hell of a job to remove it from the metal bracket. The one I chose is 30 x 20 (larger diameter not height) with 2 long male stud M6 Benefits from the upgrade is better anti vibration, stronger Mount and easy to remove in the future just by putting a m6 cap nut to undo the worn Mount.

1 pointThe grey actually makes the cabin feel more spacious than it really is. Have been in a few black leather E46s and they all felt more claustrophobic!

1 pointStarted on the wheels today. Took a couple of hours but the first one is stripped of paint. First coat of etching primmer.

1 pointThe other circuit board for sale also looks interesting. ( stacker board with Ibus connection and i2s audio conversion for Raspberry Pi 2) It has a relay to handle reverse cam / raspberry video out Have been thinking about replacing my carpc with a raspberry Pi running Kodi and installing it in a cd stacker chassis. This would enable me to have 400 odd lossless albums on http://pibus.info/buy4/

1 pointLooks like Chris Evans may be a solo Top Gear presenter for now. Jodie Kidd probably turned the job down when she heard who she'd be working with.
-
1 pointYeah, they've signed up for 32 special 730s no doubt they will be a stripped down version and they are leased. Apparently even a couple of armoured ones Even arriving before the retail stock

1 pointLooking forward to seeing this one tomorrow, would be nice to have the Estoril's side-by-side. Although yours is sure to be cleaner than mine!

1 pointGuy Martin has turned down an invitation to host Top Gear. He said that being a truck fitter was his chosen career, and that it would always come first. The comparatively small amount of television work he currently does is hard enough to fit in around his job and bike racing, and that presenting the show would mean changing his life altogether. “Yes, you might earn squillions of pounds, but I earn enough here to keep me in push bikes,” he said. “I don’t want to live like a rock star. I drive a Transit van and a Volvo estate. Although having said that, my Snap-On tool bill is quite high.” Kind of a shame. Sounds like he's a 'real' person and would have been a breath of fresh air, for the first series at least.

1 pointThat motors looks right at home in there, they're a nice looking engine. You'll enjoy the diff, had kayne do exactly the same on mine. It's a good looking car, don't ever sell it to get married or something stupid like that. You can always sleep in the back!

1 pointI went into the workshop today to check out progress and do a bit of wiring - sometime handy being an electronics engineer... It's looking pretty good. Everything is in except: Coolant Overflow Bottle - doesn't fit on the all alloy radiator. This will be mounted elsewhere. Driveshaft - the wrong front half was supplied and doesn't fit - looks like it came off a 318. The correct one will be sent out on Monday. Today I installed the Link ECU, changed the wiring for the AIT sensor (as we're using a LInk one in the inlet pipe vs the BMW one in the manifold), installed the relay and wiring for the 1980CFM electric fan and connected the relay control to the old pirge-valve cabling. The USB lead from the Link ECU was also put through into the glovebox for easy in-car access. Left to do is create a 1mm alloy sheet air duct for the bottom of the radiator - removing the airconditioning cooler also took out all the air directors and surrounds so new ones must be fabricated of most of the air will bypass the radiator and go under the car. Here's the engine installed now looking like a M52 due to the M52 Vanos, Cam Cover, Coils and Oil Filter Housing More pics to come of the gearbox etc.
