2 points^ Awesome Brent, such a great machine you have there. Having had a short drive of it, I get a better appreciation for what it might be like on the track - can clearly see the awesome mid range pull all the way to the redline in the clip.

1 pointThanks guys. Trailer booked, heading over on Saturday early and we'll get the old girl home and decide what to do after that. Probably fix and work over a bunch of other niggles at the same time. In case anyone is interested, the cost to get it transported from Springs Junction to central Dunedin was $750 + GST. Probable cost to go get it inc trailer rental and gas is going to be around $450.00 and a road trip with my uncle so overall not as much sting as it could have been. Cheers, Tom

1 pointPretty simple really man. You basically get the engine on timing marks. You release the bolt that holds the tensioner in it's tension position, then you remove the pump, when putting it back the tensioner spring will apply tension the the tensioner, put two bolts in the waterpump to hold it in place, then tighten the tensioner bolts to hold it in place and tension the belt, then tighten the waterpump. Pretty easy.
-
1 pointHow'd the waterpump replacement go? I'm doing mine tomorrow. I've done the timing belt along with waterpump before, but never the waterpump on it's own. Pretty straight forawrd though yeah? Just like lego. How'd you get the tensioner spring back on with the pump?

1 pointTi pollen filters are different to an E36 sedan. They fit from the engine bay side not inside the cabin by the foot pedals

1 pointBurnout button and auto throttle blip on a manual gearbox Would be hard to get out of the habit of heel-toeing. Quite a cool little car, all the newer 1 & 3 series are looking the same to me though :<

1 pointI would get the badges, redo them slightly to the left a bit and fix the f**kup with the height of them. Then send the dealer a bill for my time. Pissed ant built the jig for that badge.

1 pointI'm glad to see the M Performance sub-brand is well recognised! The vehicle in the photo is an X5 M50d (series = X5, model = M50d) this is one of the M Performance sub-brand, triple turbo diesel engine, goes like poo off a shovel. This is NOT to be confused with the BMW M Gmbh car (or "M" car as most refer to it..) which IS the X5 M Josh (tut! tut!) and has the stonking petrol V8 with twin hair-dryers and goes even more rapdily, also has the WBS start to the VIN code as it is built by the M division, but in the same factory as the other X5s... And certainly neither of the above are to be confused with an X5 with M-Sport, which should be referred to by it's model code - X5 30d M-Sport for example, and is NOT an M car and nor is it an M-Performance car. Which leads into the question, what is a genuine M-Sport car... Clear as mud??
