2 pointsAs an ex '8' series owner I would say "Don't do it!". Having read your posts I can totally relate to what you've been going through. An '8' is not for everyone as they are an older 'classic' that requires a lot of looking after, including deep pockets. I also fell in love with thie 8er after seeing one in Shelley's Wellington in the 90's. I bought mine in 2011 as a keeper. But after 2 years of ownership and a significant amount spent on maintenance (not improvements as planned) I made the decision to part with it. This was 3 years ago and I have regretted ever since. I was shown my old '8' a couple of weeks ago and although it is in the same condition (I know the owners plan for it) I got the same feeling of excitement all over again. Since giving up my '8' I have had several beemers. including an E36 M3 saloon and currently an E60 M5. From my perspective these do not compare to the excitement of an '8'. If there is any possibility (its tough rationalising head over heart) of keeping your 8 and looking at alternative options the I would advise 'keep it'. I know, just as I have. the moment you hand over the keys that you will regret it. Cheers

2 pointsUPDATES 24.04.2016 Been a little while again since my formal forum update (been craaaaaaazy busy) - but for those of you who have been following my social medial channels you'll probably be up to date on what the car looks like at the moment. For those who do not - here is your update! Since the last photos, I've decided to run my old clear indicators as I felt the amber lights were a little too high contrast for me - I felt this new colour combo suited the car more, so after I popped them on I decided to take a few cheeky snaps here and there. Being busy with other life stuff was putting me off working on the rear spoiler, however one of my best friends from high school got back in touch with me and reminded me he is a professional automotive painter. So without further delay, we tee'd up a weekend to get some work done on my LTW spoiler. The LTW spoiler was cracked along the top panel and I hadn't had the time to get around to fixing it and painting it. So on an early Sunday morning my friend Quinton invited me to his workplace, a panel and paint shop to show me how it's done. Watching a professional fill and bog panels/bodywork was awesome, really shows how amateur I am compared to someone like him. It was great to watch and learn how to best go about fixing things. Next up was watching him mix up the paint - pretty incredible that a colour that normally appears as 'black' (cosmoschwartz black) actually has a whole bunch of other colours in the mix! Interesting to learn and see! Next was to watch him prep, and then paint the 4 pieces of the LTW wing. It's great to show the kind of time, effort, and care painters go through to ensure a quality finish. Quinton really did an outstanding job, couldn't have done anything remotely as impressive by myself! Big props to him and allowing us to use the workshop out of hours to get it done in a morning The final product - 4 pc high rise LTW, painted, and mounted on the E36: It has been incredible to say the least, to see my car being shared on various automotive social media channels around the world. The great feedback I continue to receive is what keeps me going! Next on the list is I'm going to be looking in to making a custom rear diffuser to mount on the rear bumper ... I'll leave you with a bonus pic of her from the weekend at a friends back yard garage. Watch the forums for a new build thread which will probably be popping up for my friends new E30 project ... it'll definitely be a crowd pleaser As always, if you're interested in more immediate/day-to-day updates on the build, feel free to follow me on my social media channels as listed in my signature. P.S. - I've recently launched my website for my photography work! Check it out if you are interested haha www.JWNZofficial.com PEACE! ~Jeff

1 pointGo on Dave, you know you need an 'iL' to add to your e38 collection. This one needs a little attention in a few spots, seems clean and honest overall? 1996 750iL a mere 170k kms asking $5000 1996 750il fully loaded cd player and mini screen not working Pretty sure all the other fruit works. Has had new rear rotors, brake lines all round, front and rear suspension components, starter, battery, radiator plus others. Body and Interior tidy, photo's indicate major faults. Excellent engine, and I have just had the trans serviced and checked out by Kaspa Auto's. The technician said the trans drove beautifully. Awesome car on a trip, quiet, smooth and effortless, and excellent fuel economy for a v12 pulling 2.3 ton. A lot of car for the money, no offers pls.. ... one assumes the black cat is not included.

1 pointHI, I have the same issue as describe the topic. my car is e39 530i from japan. The ULF is 6th Generation and I have the bluetooth ejectbox installed. I have gone through the steps provided in the PDF however it just refused to go through pairing. In the document it mentioned it is allowed to use any 2 disused wires and I have chose 6 and 7 to go to 32 and 39 pins. Am I doing something wrong ? your input on this will be much appreciated, thanks in advance

-
1 pointThanks. It's hard to put a price on it when you know there are only 113 in the world. But at the same time I'm not in a hurry to sell and it's only listed here.

1 pointKeep in mind there was that really tidy L7 long wheel base E38 V12 that sold for 10k recently. If that is relevant to what 750is are worth I'm not so sure.

1 pointNo one is going to be able to tell you. Get yourself a multimeter and do some troubleshooting. Do the switches have lights on? Indication there is power to the switches? Power at the fuse? Power at the motors?

1 pointYeah Nick ( W.industries ) he's a good dude, have purchased a few items off him that i couldn't find else where,, has a lot of variation in parts for good prices as well. He is located right next to Hell BM, so you could get two birds with one stone haha. Look for his "wanted" ad on TM, should be able to find his contact number etc

1 pointWorth a crack!! .... but if that dont fly ill score a bag of turbo walnut shell mix from Syntec (who supply BMW dealers) and get into it. I've got a small compressor but Dave from Autoblast has also offered one of his booths and his meggatron blaster thats got a compressor the size of a small city (and uses the same amount of electricity) that would probably cut my car in half if i held the loud button down for too long.
-
1 pointAwesome ok! Yes i have got a blaster and bag of walnuts from countdown.... they look too big to go down but i guess if you have enough pressure and stand far enough back...
