1 pointBuy two. Ive put 70k on mine, 220k on clock, and I do 1000km a week. Still drives tight, suspension bushes a lil squeeky (soon to be fixed), still on the original clutch, engine might as well have 10k on it. All ive done is routine servicing. It has zero oil leaks, many stone chips 130s are the ducks nuts, easily the best car Ive ever owned as a daily toy.

1 pointI also dropped by RPM records in Wellington - 20% off all weekend - while I was out running errands with #1 Son. Treated myself to two new albums. The new LCD Soundsystem alb, and Villains by Queens of the Stone Age. Fizzing that's what it's all about.

1 pointmy family has just given me father's day present early. I've enjoyed a glass of Rockburn pinot noir, and watched Ghost in the Shell on Blu Ray with my family. life is grand. May not be everyone's cup of tea, I really buzzed out on the movie.

1 pointwelcome, Borig! (Tate) you shouldn't take long long to find your next bimmer, there's one on every corner and a half dozen in between, in Auckland! Enjoy Bimmersport, there's plenty to read here, and many meet ups organised.

1 pointHi After looking for a good few months I've just bought an 09 130i. Took it to the Manawatu and back over the weekend, really enjoyed it.. Just need to ditch the run flats and give it a really good polish.

1 pointHey there, first timer so be gentle....took an 130i Msport for a spin today, auto box, paddle shift is neat. Engine is glorious after my wife's Peugeot (car would be for her to drive) ride was not as harsh as I expected. Feels tight as a drum and has 103K on the clock. Boot is a little small, interior is great, real metal detailing rather than silver plastic. Steering feels great, why don't more manufacturers make steering wheels that feel this good? Massive dumb reason to buy a car by a huge smile maker. Hoping she will say yes.... its her money after all before anyone says "just buy it"

1 pointI'll look into that. Remember I mentioned the DIY soda blaster? I found a YouTube vid that shows almost exactly what I lashed together:

1 pointGood on you one step at a time.oh must ask how far do you trust you mate or does he like to pull pranks ?. If so make sure you can get to the release catch for the boot lock unless you have fold down rear seats.

1 pointGabriel, Looking at the pic of the tensioner they are the old spring loaded type ones correct. Their is an conversion kit available which uses a hydraulic piston. This seems to eliminate the rattling noise with the spring type as the spring looses tension and cannot keep the drive belt tight, it allows it to jump coursing the rattle. The dealer converted mine was not cheap at the time but had no further trouble As for your boot leak have you removed the boot seal rubber and checked the condition of the metal lip and channel. Also from memory their is a body join some were in the area of the boot hinge what is the sealant condition and the join like.

1 pointI don't think I am missing the point. You are free to replace your own airbags. The rest of us are free to do the same. If we are worried about our vehicles safety, or safety systems, we are free to buy a newer better engineered vehicle. You cannot retrofit newer airbag technology to an older vehicle. In your 1984 example any "new" airbag would be old stock (unless you want to restart manufacture of old obsolete airbag technology) and so would be past your supposed age related safety point. If it became known that "old" airbags would be unlikely to work, despite passing their self check whenever the vehicle is started (per WOF requirement), then maybe your point is valid. Until then, the 1984 airbag is considered to meet todays requirements as it is assumed to be totally functional, and because it was fit for purpose when it was manufactured- note this is in line with the rationale that allows classic cars on our roads, despite no crumple zones, headrests, seatbelts, collapsing steering columns, traction control... or airbags.

1 pointWelcome! If your looking for something cheap that needs a little bit of work, but with potential to be special, I know where a V12 converted E34 Touring is ;o) Fuel bill might make you miss the yaris though.

1 pointHave just driven this car and it is a ripper. I can live with the interior Dan, it is nice and bright inside the car compared to the all black in our current 330. My offer is on the table so will see what happens.
