2 pointsI assure you, I only mark up the pricing by 200% ... someone has to ensure the boss gets his 6th rental mortgage paid and boat serviced.

2 pointsHand built...? Really? Well I suppose some of the bits are put in by people as it comes down the production line so it kind of counts right? Paint Code 490 = Sonderlackeriung (or something close in German) which literally means Special Paint Finish. If you ask for a tin of BMW code 490 you might get a bit of a funny look. So much drivel on TradeMe, probably passing on what the dealer told them when they bought the car.

1 pointHi folks Another Wellie newbie. I'm picking up my 08 525i Motorsport e61 from Auckland next week and driving it back down - got to welcome it to the family with a decent drive. I wanted the 530i but couldn't find one in Motorsport spec in my price range British bloke, lived in Wellie for 15 years. Moving from a V6 Audi A4 wagon to the touring. I have only had Euro cars apart from one japper which confirmed my belief that they are dangerous... cos you fall asleep while driving the boring things. This will be my first bimmer, but have had lots of vag group cars, a couple of Saab's, a couple of Peugeot/Citroen's, a 70's Merc that had to be sold to buy a house (pesky houses), and a couple British and Italian runabouts. Have always lusted after a beemer since the original m5 days, and have finally got my way. The touring will be the family run about, as the daily driver is an Aprillia 1000cc motorbike. Hope to see a few of you around the windy city. Adrian P.s. I have NCS expert + D/k cable on its way from Europe so if anyone needs to borrow it, or me when I've worked out how to use it, give me a shout

1 pointThe mini is staying. Too much fun. But the 130 is up for sale or replacement for something stupid like a 4.6L X5
-
1 pointStill cheap at 12.......over 10 years I would have easily sunk 35k into my old 728i including purchase price. Did carry me for 140000km......more rewarding than spending 35k on a corolla.....

1 pointFCP Fanclub checking in! There was someone new to the forums recently asking if it was hyperbole when we'd write things like "300% markup on parts in NZ sometimes" alas, no...
-
1 pointThe one on the left is half the size of an M20 one, its definitely not the 'correct' one. You can use it and it wont have any problem, but just sayin.. Z88A as it says on it, is the full size one

1 point@Kepes is that for a m20? kinda looks like you've been given the wrong one from Repco..
-
1 pointAuto Super Shoppes are similarly priced. BNT are better but may not have the brand choice.

1 pointUggggh has been a long process, lots of little things to tidy up and being in a different city to the car definitely doesn't help. but light is at the end of the tunnel the last pieces have arrived and should be having a wheel alignment as i type this and then book in for a re-check. Fingers crossed. Then the painful task of putting it all back together again. hopefully by the end of the month i will be close to driving on the road legally

1 pointRipco. How do they get away with their exorbitant prices?? For example, they're selling this filter for $27!! The Mahle filter, for comparison, costs just ~$6.40 (converted to NZD) on FCP euro. The Repco junk has about 1/3 less filter material than the Mahle and is made in Indonesia. Mahle is made in Austria. The holes on the thread side of the filter are also larger on the Mahle, I can only assume this helps the oil flow better. Repco also tried to charge me $40 for 1m of fuel line, what a joke. Went to Supercheap, $12 per metre. I'm sure this kind of thing doesn't only exist in the automotive industry. And people wonder why they're losing business to online sales from overseas... Ignore the sawdust on the used Mahle, it's been sitting in the workshop. Needless to say I will be returning the Ripco filter. /rant

1 pointBeen lurking in the shadows, finally thought I would introduce myself and my cars. Brought my first car February which is a 525i factory manual and the second one I picked up recently for cheap which is a 525i auto, just couldn't resist another one. I started out looking to get a E36 as a mate has one but once I saw the E34 I knew I had to get one (two). Thanks

1 pointCheers Smithy When my cable arrives (probably towards end of next week at this rate) you're more than welcome to use it. The eBay ad says it suits E90/91 as it's a switchable d-can/k-can cable and comes with this lot (plus access to the error code catalogue) ● INPA (v5.0.6) ● Ediabas (v7.3.0) ● DIS ● SSS Progman (v32) ● NCS Expert (v4.0.1) ● WinKFP (v5.3.1) ● Toolset32 (v4.0.3) ● TIS (latest version) ● Navcoder (trial) It doesn't have the adapter for older connectors though

1 pointWelcome Vince and what a beaut you have! I can appreciate how a B5 would be an easier daily driver whilst still a monster. Is it based on the 545i or the 550i? Hope to the see the car as some point.
