Alright, calm down everyone. I have literally one photo of the car, here it is... I never really take photos of my cars, just not my thing. Its not a major heap but as with most red cars of this age it needs a respray, and is covered in a quite few dents and scrapes. I should really refit the chrome trim, its in the boot...

Right I tested fitted the splitter today. The fit is not perfect but in some regards I expected that. Additional measures will need to be taken to ensure it's secure. The original (not previous) owner says that it needs to be installed over the existing black motosport lip and I think this is the only practical way to do it and secure it properly. As you'll see the splitter emulates this lip and really needs something to hang from across its length. I don't believe simply securing it from the bottom will be sufficient, especially at high speed. Achieving a tight "OEM" fit will require the use of race tape or external (visible) bolts/screws to secure the splitter to the factory lip. Unfortunately if you use race tape removal would be almost impossible without damaging the fibreglass structure (the tape would just pull the fibres apart). Having said that it's quite grouse and it does look very aggressive, I'm not sold on it yet for every day use but we'll see how that plays out. The pics (test fit only)... The gaps...

As those who were at the coffee meet at the beginning of the month saw, we had an issue with the rear right side indicator. The right hand indicators all worked, but flashed at double speed; hazard lights all worked and flashed at normal speed. The rear right indicator wasn't as bright as the left side - bulbs were swapped, but problem persisted on the right side. Found the connection... Tiny, fiddly little contacts which had some corrosion on them, raising the resistance in the circuit enough to fool the circuit sensor into thinking a bulb was out. Much fiddling with tiny abrasives and working the connection later and problem solved. Good connection, correct brightness, no double-speed flashing.

Everyone is so hung up on AC this, Motorsport that, and Hartge the other - those are the rarest bits. The underlying car is the same. Manual? An automatic is fine, unless you're in a lot of hurry on backroads or similar.. $6750 is fairly strong money for an E30 even now. Lot's of adverts for them, not so many selling... Unless they are really good, in which it's a justifiable price.

okay, fixed the misfire in the M5, still not sure how, swapped the ionic detection modules and the misfire didn't move so swapped the coils on cyl 6 & 7, misfire is gone! I will enjoy it while it lasts.

IT's ALIVE !!!!! never straight forward, engine out again to sort a couple of things, still wouldn't start, had spark and fuel but wouldn't fire, had the computer double checked for the EWS delete and all was good there. Had my electrical guy back and he looked into the injector firing and we had no power there when cranking, so bridged a wire at replay and vroom So now we can put the interior back in, seats, dash and console back together and go for a whip around the block, clutch doesn't feel perfect as it's very close to the floor so may need to lengthen the rod more to get the engagement up. All going to plan this weekend we will finish off these items and I can get a wheel alignment booked this week ready for cert... Will update after weekend of how the test drive goes.

Id say it's about 2k over priced to be honest as there's nothing really desirable about it apart from perhaps the service history

If it had ever been made (this is an hommage) it would be a 2002Tii coupe.

Absolutely love a clean prefacelift e30. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1697765736 This one has been taunting me from my watchlist for days. If I hadn't already gotten way too deep with mine...

Put 2 new coils and 2 new air filters in, on top of 10 new spark plugs, now have a misfire cylinder 6 code coming up so tomorrow i will play a game of "Swap the ionic current detection modules" to see if i can diagnose this, fun fun fun.

I have an idea of a funner game: how fast can you empty the tank? I literally have a blast playing this game ? From an ex-M5 and current multi V8 owner!

If you want some good around town point and squirt fun you have to go a long way to beat a John Cooper Works version of the 3 Door hatch. Just like the Italian Job, although try not to drive up the pavements, the police take a pretty dim view of that kind of thing.

Just to point out that the picture posted is not an official BMW release - it's from another web-forum that are "speculating" what the rumoured new FWD 1 Series will look like when it comes to market, probably based of off the spy shots of test mules that have been spotted out and about. How close it comes to the actual production version, and how big the actual grilles are, we will have to wait and see...

Quick update, that little bit of track time got me hooked so the M3 has spent a large part of the last 6 months parked up as I work my way towards a drift car, with the odd 6 hours drive here and there :-) , after missing the group trip over the Gentle Annie I was determined to check it out. I did treat it to a front set of Pilot Super Sports and a Sparco bucket, which made a world of difference!
