this is straight out of NZLP May 2018 fiscal summary , no mention of a short fall that would require a tax hike on fuel......And their $11-21 billion tax hole that everyone's forgotten about. We are looking to the future and taking responsibility on a number of intergenerational challenges facing New Zealand. The responsibility includes more than just policy choices – we are committed to fiscal responsibility to ensure that the New Zealand economy can withstand any unexpected shocks like natural disasters or global downturns. The Treasury’s Budget Economic and Fiscal Update shows the Government is meeting the Budget Responsibility Rules. These rules include running sustainable operating surpluses across the economic cycle, reducing net core Crown debt to 20 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) within five years of taking office and keeping government expenditure as a per cent of GDP in line with historic trends. New Zealand’s fiscal and economic outlook continues to improve. The operating balance before gains and losses (OBEGAL) is forecast to reach a surplus of $7.3 billion in 2021/22. Net core Crown debt falls to 19.1 per cent of GDP in 2021/22. Unemployment declines towards 4 per cent, wages rise in real terms each year, and GDP growth is expected to average 3 per cent across the forecast period. The Government’s responsible approach to fiscal management, together with an improved economic outlook since the general election, means we have been able to increase the capital and operating allowances in Budget 2018. These will begin to address the social and infrastructure deficits facing New Zealand, while meeting the Budget Responsibility Rules. Budget 2018 provides for $2.8 billion per year of new operating spending and $3.8 billion of new capital investments. Allowances for future Budgets have also been increased in light of continuing cost pressures across a range of portfolios. Budget 2018 forecasts a record $42 billion of net new capital spending over the next five years. This is over $10 billion more than planned by the previous Government at Budget 2017. The Government’s plan is fully funded within the allowances. It will ensure New Zealand transitions to an economy that is more productive, more sustainable, and more inclusive. It is a plan focused on improving the living standards and wellbeing of all New Zealanders, both now and into the future.

Jesus. I love how you get clowns that modify an E87 like this.. then guys like Ray that put S65s in theirs. The juxtaposition couldn't be clearer! I guess it's one factor of the car world that always keeps me amused.

Mine's always for sale, Paul, if you're looking! Just done a whole lot more work too... New fuel pressure regulators, more suspension parts, headlining and about to refurb the air con (again!).

aaaand another one.. It needed a super good clean inside and out. The interior had the typical sagging headlining and broken glovebox missing parcel tray etc. Has been given a thorough clean now and reupholstered the headlining in nice brand new black fabric, already had the black sunvisors as it is motorsport, bought a new glovebox lid and parcel tray from pickapart and now looking much better than before. Any tips on how to restore the faded parcel tray without covering it in fabric? maybe a spray dye or something? Drivers seat needs to be stitched up and picked up an armrest centre console to install, also the stereo is held on by black electrical tape.. will need to fix that but AUX works and sounds decent! Will need to be tinted but otherwise pretty good interior wise. Only issue is windows and sunroof just suddenly refuses to work and so I need to wait a few minutes then it will work again randomly. Strange! I think it had an aftermarket alarm at some point as it makes a weird beeping noise but not sure. Exterior.. oh man, typical red paint. Hellrot, literally rotting away clearcoat on almost every panel. Overall needs some love. Front nose panel and bumper, passenger guard is the worst. few dings here and there but its ok for now. Mechanically, again typical M44, does leak a couple drops of engine oil but doesnt seem too excessive. Idles nicely and revs freely, drives quite good also. The 4 speed auto is the biggest let down, manual box would be ideal but it is what it is. Anyway, some photos!

I'd be annoyed if I spent 20K on a "full rebuild" and then had to get the tappets reset and a new thermostat.

All he needs is a basic oil service to keep the policy ticking over. I work at Chch BMW and we do them for like $240 if that which isn't expensive by any stretch. Especially if it means keeping Autosure happy should there be anything to claim in the future

You have two choices with the warranty servicing. A. Stop trying to cheap out on parts, get the service done properly and by the book and be able to claim on warranty B. Use cheap parts you supply yourself, DIY it (and potentially stuff it up since you appear to have little experience) bugger the warranty and foot the bill for any issues that come up No point whinging about it, you should have read the terms and conditions booklet before you purchased the warranty, its all very clearly outlined in there. Me personally, if i had forked out the cash for the warranty, i would just service it by the book and be done with it. When the warranty ends, get a couple of helpful, BMW knowledgeable friends together and learn to DIY it.

I have NEVER seen an e46 m3 from the UK without some sort of under floor rust (be it minor or significant) and I have seen a lot of them. It is usually the floor, suspension components (nuts and bolts), subframe, arms, fuel tank strap, exhaust mounts, front wings and the list goes on. I have even seen low mileage UK CSLs with tons of rusts. I also went and saw a 2016 X5M freshly imported with running in miles and it had beginning signs of rust. If you know where to look you will find it. If you can’t see it, then it has been removed or covered up. To say a UK import that has been used in winter has zero rust you are simply in denial about how science works. Given the amount of potential issues I’d never import one without checking it out by somebody that really knows overseas or personally. Choices aplenty locally to make importing make sense. Nice! I can remember seeing that for sale and thought it was a good deal. If you haven’t done already, google m156 head studs, cam shaft & lifters, and sort out some mechanical insurance.

Hmmm. So say you guys buy $999NZD of goods and shipping at a time from Driftit No.1 Ltd based here in the US. I get supplied from FCP or similar. Once I reach 60K I start up Driftit No.2 Ltd and so on. No GST? Oh and it will be based in Delaware which has no local sales tax either. Actually I think I want to call the company 'NONZGSTLOL Ltd'

Spends money on upgrades throughout the car making it no longer OEM. Then spends 20K on a stock M20 rebuild.... What an odd decision.

It's very nice indeed. But there was a Diamond Schwarz one that was asking 25k in Rotorua which was in very good condition too. And I thought that was really testing the market. $50k... IMO I would rather buy a normal E30 coupe shell, put a S54 in it, run it with just two seats and half a cage. Or Spend it all on hookers and blow.

Interior of the IS-F is rather on par with the earlier C63 models, just low rent sub 3 series cars in many ways, saved by cool engines. Big step down from an E39 interior I think you just need an E39 M5.

Put my front brakes back together, bleed the rears moved to the front only to find that. Both cailpers are leaking from the new piston seals I put in........?
