I have worked with bikers that kept their bikes inside, throughout the house, even doing a rebuild in the lounge and engine overhaul on the kitchen table! So I wouldn’t put taking a bike into the shower past some of the two wheeled fraternity.

Yes, by NZ New RHD drive I am looking for vehicles converted here at the time. I would be open to a vehicle that has been imported later and converted but that would be subject to the quality of the conversion. Due to the rule changes it is significantly less common for vehicles to be converted these days so realistically the most likely way to find a RHD model is to find one of the ones converted at the time. I have other LHD vehicles and due to how much I hope to drive this I would definitely prefer it be RHD. The answer to other options is to go on to other vehicles I have on my "to buy" list, some which vary greatly from this and some of which do not. If I simply can't find what I want I may just give up and buy a LHD one but probably not. When you take something that is a small inconvenience but multiply by it by a lot of times it becomes a big one. If the E30 path doesn't work then I might buy an E46 M3 if I can find the right one. Or buy another CSL and manual convert it this time. I'm kind of looking for an E39 M5 too. I imagine that any other option I go for would be simply for a few years whereas if I can find the right E30 M3 then I intend on keeping it forever.

Another quick update. After driving the car around a bit more, it's clear that exhaust is a problem. It's taken half a dozen hits now, the clamp is not looking great, and the flexy is not going to last long. The exhaust has also been pushed up into the floor of the body to leave some small dents. This photo is an attempt to show how low this front section sits. The clamp: So, I've come up with plan to modify the front section of the system to tuck it further up into the car: I'll cut off the main V band clamp and flexy. Add a second small flexy to the "Y" merge section. Add regular 2 bolt flange further back, just before the resonator. Then connect the ends back together with a slightly ovalized length of pipe, I already made a start on merge section. Hoping to make some more progress this weekend.

Used all common models ( B4-B8 ) with various lowering springs, mostly in older models. I did have B8's re-valved to match to H&R springs on my old E30 which improved damping over certain surfaces. I didn't think think they were too bad but many factors to consider. In saying that i prefer Koni's especially if you using std springs. Down side is rebound adjustment in rear on E39 isnt that easy to do (if adjustment required after install) Shox.com is where ive got my Koni in the past for a decent price.

Looks awesome! Cerium Oxide on the exterior to get the fronts looking like new.

Looks like some drivers side panels may have been replaced so I would check for evidence of accident but on the money otherwise.

Agree, nothing wrong with the 320i (I even raced one for many years) but it does kind of fall between two stools, not the performance of the 325i nor the economy / handling of the 318i. That said the 320i was a very popular model in the E30, in both 2 and 4 door form.

There seem to be more 320s in NZ than anything else! Or is that just more 320s being offered for sale? They're a perfectly competent car. Just lack the extra oomph of a 325, but have the reduced engine bay space and extra servicing cost compared to a 4-pot.

Yeah, expected it to go pretty quick. While price was highish, I’ve not seen an E36 in that kind of condition in a long time. Hopefully happens when I eventually sell my E46 😬

The warning is very useful, I would’ve taken the bike in the shower to save water and all

Cool so when FENZ turns up to scrape up after a crash they can now use the same spatula to take care of the vehicle remnants too. Self recycling cars, what an era we live in.
