Back on trailer lights and what I found to be a common problem with older cars and new trailers is that the LED lights do t work properly due to not enough resistance in the circuit. This causes check light warnings to show on the dash all the time. did some research on how to resolve. KNew what I needed but found finding the bits hard here in Nz. Plenty of offshore options but they do t use the same plugs we do for towing. I reached out to Fabian at Coombes here in Hamilton who advised this, it was exactly what I was looking for. It’s a shame some Nz retailers don’t do a better job of online presence management. anywho 175 bucks later and problem solved!! http://www.anythingelectronic.co.nz/aenz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_85&products_id=471

Has anyone else tried the MHD latest add on to V9 maps? Sliding scale setting, throttle pedal signal reducing function as used on the 1M it says. Loaded it yesterday, works great! Set at 70%,(less delay from stock), feels just like a cable unit, improves manual auto shifts noticably(xhp stg2). Also for $80 odd, loaded stge 2 MHD maps V9.

F%*&ng waste of space sellers. "We'll buy", we said. "When can we collect?" Arranged to collect from home address "at any time after 3pm". Get there at 3.10 after a 1-hour drive, 75km. No-one round. Message seller, no reply. Hang around for over half an hour - nothing. No replies to more messages. Leave at 4... Get a message at 4.20 - "Sorry, we're at home now." (Seller was aware of the journey we were making.) Message them again - "If we pay some money into your account, will you hold it for us?" No reply. Same message 12 hours later. No reply. Item shows as sold. "Are you holding it for us?" "We had someone collect this and pay cash. You can appreciate its first in with cash. Thank you." F%*&ng waste of space, time, money, fuel... 😡😡😡😡

I'd like to argue that cleaning up rocker cover and removing the Cosmoline residue would actually take away some of its originality. It attests to how well it has been kept over the years.

Probably yes, I am running F20 rims on the wife’s E87 and they are a very nice fit imho. From the reading I did the sizing and offsets between the two 1 Series generations was very similar, although I don’t think I checked style 385 specifically.

To be honest, with 3 540's sitting around, I don't know which way to look or what to do next... but Biarritz has been getting most of the attention. Adrian kindly posted up his old but still useable front struts, and Topaz has new tie rods for Biarritz to take the old ones... So Biarritz now has a WOF, license, wheel alignment, fresh new plates and is finally road legal after a bit of a break. Various component swaps (with Topaz) like exhausts, lights, trim, wheels have been going on. The rear lip spoiler was coming a bit unstuck so before I lost it, it was pulled off, awaiting some tape to arrive. The box of timing chain guides and associated parts has arrived, so next up I guess is opening up the front of the motor and getting into it... Been trying a bit of paint "correction" with ahh mixed results but will get there, the PDR man has also been and worked his magic over several panels - amazing work... I've also decided the Titan 540 is up for sale, so if anyone is interested in a pretty well sorted car (with timing guides, vanos, suspension, trans rebuild being highlights) then please PM me.

Reading some of the comment on-line the throttle sensitivity mod seems to have been welcomed by a number of people who had been complaining about slow throttle response... as in stabbing the throttle does not bring the kind of engine response typically found in a tuned N.A. engine. Having a small delay in throttle response helps smooth out the rise in power delivery and gives the turbo controls a little more time to do their thing. This is not really an issue with an auto trans. But with a manual trans, a fast throttle response is pretty much mandatory if you want to drive quickly. Gear changes, especially when using heel and toe techniques, rely on precise control of the engine speed. So your comment is on the money... I suspect that BMW knew what they were doing when they put a little delay in the throttle response on auto trans cars. People who buy the auto version (me now) like "smooth and powerful" whereas people who buy the manual like to have full control over gear selection and shift points. Nothing wrong with that... I loved driving manual trans cars right up to the time that I discovered a late model auto could shift smoother and faster than I could Cheers...

No idea how common this may be, but could it be a split hose?
