Not wrong. Specific models go for good coin (pre 1990s coupes, convertibles and wagons), but nearly all sedans with the exception of W108 are hugely undervalued compared to everything else out there (except maybe XJ Jags, Silver Shadow Rolls and E32 7 series). Last year I got $12k for this 280SE. It is in pretty good condition. I've seen Mk 5 Cortinas and 4 cylinder Holden Commodores have higher asking prices 😂 Theres a V8 one on TM now for $12k and you'd struggle to find a better entry into the classic car scene. My V12 Coupe I sold in 2020 for $8500. I should have held onto it, an exceptional car and a bargain considering what it is. Currently one on TM for $10k.

Made up a little plate to fit my three rivnuts to mount the fuse and relay box ... worked a treat and saved having to buy an expensive tool. Credit to @M3AN for the initial inspiration in the tools for hire thread Got the box mounted up all good and have started terminating wires into it !! Once this is done I can jig up some temporary power and validate I've not stuffed up anything fundamental.

Hi folks! After only a short 5/6 months I am dumping my e-tron and ordering an iX. The e-tron is pretty capable and the ride and handling are excellent but Audi’s MMI and car software are a hot mess and now that there’s a BMW alternative I’m coming back home. Our order spec: Xdrive40 Sport Mineral white metallic Amido interior Comfort and Enhancement Packages I drove the iX (test car photos attached) this week and wrote a quick comparison to the e-tron: https://evforum.co.nz/quick-reads-bm...on-50-quattro/

Keep me in the loop with your research, I'd go a standard one if the buttons wouldn't work with my gate remote!

It will probably be a hell of a lot cheaper than the same noise in a V10 M5!! 😂

i did get a follow up call the day after this post saying that Ryan was looking at possible fixes. I told them that i traveled up to christchurch and soundworks sorted it out via eurosport in auckland.. like i said; i asked them to do something that is way out of the norm. i'll schedule my Z4 with them for maintenance due in May. hopefully they will give me a discount of my 14 hours travel and $200 in fuel.

A bit more progress on the 135, managed to install the front coilovers, wasn't too difficult, trickiest part was getting the old struts out but with some spring compressors and a bit of force they came out eventually. Installed the new coilovers with the camber plates set the the maximum amount of negative camber to try fit the 245 tires. Left preload untouched and shortened the struts 25mm compared to the original ones to account for the much stiffer spring rate. Tried to fit the front wheels but they wouldn't go on, tires didn't clear the coilovers, was not very happy after spending hours researching fitment and trying to find the ideal offset for it to not work. Next day, come up with a plan, preload the springs more/wind the collar up higher to get the spring to sit above the tire so it would clear, tried that, couldn't preload them enough to get them high enough. New idea, remove the helper spring to shorten the length of the springs. So coilovers had to come back out, bit of a pain, removed the helper springs and reinstalled them. Maxed out negative camber on the camber plate and the strut towers, and tried to fit the wheels/tires again, success they now cleared the struts. Did this both sides, dropped the car off the jackstands and it looks like it may just work! Desperately needs a wheel alignment as all the camber has caused a lot of toe out. Haven't driven much to test for rub but will try install Rear suspension next, then get a wheel alignment and take it for a drive on some bumpy roads and see how much rub I get. Might have to go down to a 235/40/18 tire or ideally even a 245/35/18 but those are hard to find. Ride height is still a bit high but I don't know how much I can drop it before the wheel/tire starts getting close to the spring assembly again, we will see, rear suspension next! Slow progress but with how little room there is in the front guards a 245 square set up is tricky to fit. Will be interesting to see if the 245s will fit on the rear, im fairly certain I will need a guard roll and some more negative camber, hoping that it will handle a lot better with the stiffer suspension and grippy square set up. For those wondering wheel sizes are as follows: 18x8 et38 245/40/18 dunlop direzza 03g any higher offset and it won't clear struts, any less and wheels will poke like crazy, square shoulder of these tires don't help.

05-07 March 2022. 186794kms It had been sitting patiently since November while we took care of more renovation work at home, and resettled into our new kitchen. I had no time for the e60, though did run it up once a month to operating temperature and dry the condensation from the exhaust. Having a little more time together, it was time to get it sorted. Renewing the insurance last week was a reminder I'm nearly at 5 years ownership. 1. Polished Headlamp Lenses The headlamps were looking a little yellowed. Time for a spruce-up. On Saturday afternoon I set up and used the Turtle Wax kit, and was suitably impressed. This kit uses ‘clarifying paste’, a special lube (ooh err matron), and four grades of very very fine wet and dry. Once the wet and dry refinishing is completed, you apply more clarifying paste, and buff off after drying. Finally there's two wipes - a base coat, followed by a sealant coat. It then takes 24 hrs to cure, though the instructions say you can use the car. End result was very good in my opinion. I took my time, playing an 80's funk playlist on Spotify while I worked, and took about two hours all up. Pretty good finish! powered by Funk I left it till Monday morning to have plenty of time to cure. 2. WoF It flew through it's WoF today. Front tyres at 6mm, rears at 5mm. No advisories. Commentary "This is sooooo nice to drive! It's got the same pickup as my 550i, and doesn't have the loud exhaust. Don't let it go cheap, it's a really good one. Find it a good home". Front (Right I think) Front (left I think) Right Rear Left Rear 3. Registration 12 months rego bought and paid for, now current to 31/3/2023. 4. Next steps Give it a thorough valet, clean the interior and use colorlock leather finisher, do the steering wheel, photograph it, advertise it, find it a new home. It's been a brilliant five years, a superb car. I shall miss it.

There’s a LOT of M cars that have been sitting for sale at unrealistic prices for a long time……. so who knows 🤷

I personally wouldn't bother with the AA for a pre purchase inspection, they aren't worth the paper they are written on! I have seen a report on a vehicle that I had also inspected for a family member and it had so many mistakes I told them to complain and get their money back (they did). I used them once and they missed several quite obvious defects and I have also heard stories of their inspectors doing compression checks on their own vehicles if it was too difficult to do it on the subject vehicle!

OK, so Biarritz is all back on the road. Latest round of work included; Finishing timing chains, guides, tensioners, vanos seals. Intake manifold gaskets and all gaskets and O rings associated with getting into the engine... Then spark plugs, fuel filter, transmission mounts, and finally out the back for lower suspension ball joints and integral links. The engine is a bit cruddy internally so a few short interval oil changes coming up after some decent highway driving. Also the repaired and repainted front bumper (with new knockoff East European pork chops) has been fitted and it's quite an improvement on the old nose. M5 style grid. I'm pleased the colour match came up OK. My new spray gun worked great so gives me confidence to try more paint stuff... It's fair to say I'm liking this car - must be the colour...

Not sure the request will get back to me through the official channels, so here ya go. The following numbers of X5 4.6iS were registered as new vehicles in NZ.. 2002 - 26 2003 - 29 2004 - 1 Grand total of 56 units. Disclaimer - information is only from 2002 onwards, but I believe the 4.6iS was not introduced until that year, so there should be none prior.

On its first decent drive, the biarritz 540 held up in 3rd gear, and would not shift higher until I had stopped "spirited" driving and cruised for a while... Upon getting home I read the trans ecu with INPA and "temp sensor fault" was up. I suspect that the trans temp reached a point where the sensor faulted/spiked and the trans went into a protector mode to keep revs high thus oil flow high? It looks like I may need a new electrical harness for the trans as the temp sensor is integrated into the loom. Trying to get a trans shop to advise or look at it is difficult as everyone is getting sick... FCP and maybe DIY here I come...

From my limited Mercedes experience they aren't the easiest cars to sell. The older ones certainly dont appear have the fan base numbers in this country like they do in US etc.
