Just got a repaint and some SE additions (front lip and side skirts). Next step is refurbishing the set of 15” RS001s in the garage to replace the 14” weaves.

Personally I don't agree with the concept of doing a manual conversion on a car that is 1 of 222 that were right hand drive ever made. It annoys me every time a journo or youtuber bags the SMG after spending 10 minutes with it, the SMG is raw and brutal when you want it to be but can be butter smooth doing the school run. So either I have a Wednesday car or most reviewers have made up their mind about how bad an SMG is well before having any seat time. Rant over. That aside, I'm all for someone championing the E61 M5 and I do like Carfection as a channel.

That may be the case for yourself, and a few others on Bimmersport. However, in terms of the BMW buying public then it’s a very different story, order bank is out into next year and growing. Most of the orders I have seen are trading a fairly new BMW so they are BMW owners as well. The “BMW owner” group in NZ is vast and wide, Bimmersport, Simply BMW NZ, E30 club, BMWCC all cater for various sub-sets but there are still lots out there that are outside of these communities.

Yes,,,,,,,,,,the BUY NOW is set at $25k. But look closer and the no reserve starting price is actually $15k. So theoretically you could be the only bidder at $15k and the car would be yours. That level seems a bit more attractive, yes?

Transport mode. All cars have a way of shutting down everything except the bare essentials to enable the vehicle to start and run.

Can't they be converted by just putting an E90 M3 manual gearbox in and coding to match. Meaning it's pretty easily reversible no? I can't really see a problem with converting them personally.

Probably smell nicer than stored 30 year old fabric too. I think M Fabrics was marginally cheaper, Relicate seemed expensive though and only Silver Uberkaro at ASC...

Ooh… there’s an idea. I could throw in a car for barely much more

E30 parts are liquid assets - you could sell your weaves and steering wheel in a few hours for $4000

Maybe I should invest in E30 fabrics instead of E30s? Hehe

Interesting. Maybe the casual fitment of these (the control arms are standard non-M3) is in line with the replica ACS rear window spoiler and fake Alpina grille badge which were on it when I purchased... Just fluff that the owner bought online perhaps. *EDIT*: Apparently the B3 3.2 came with offset bushes Anyway, Upon closer inspection the toe was way out. bringing that back to zero has eliminated rubbing and given around 10+mm clearance full lock(8" front rim width). Now to convince my WOF guys that no witchcraft has been performed... Unfortunately his opinion is that you would need a huge adjustment in the rack to achieve this- despite the opposite being true.

It was no different when I left school in the 90s. Just as gen X we got on with it and are now many decades of working life later are starting to see some financial light at the end of the tunnel. (Still not enough for me to afford an M5 or M3 but)

Hi everyone Matt here from Christchurch. I'm a fitter/fabricator by trade and my work is customizing vehicles for people with disabilities. I own an 1986 E23 728i. Purchased the car last year and have been slowly working through tidying it up and putting my touch on it. The car is NZ New with 186,000km. Only rust is a couple of small spots in the sunroof. Car is generally tidy underneath and the only obligatory oil leak is coming from the front crank seal. I'll do a full build thread but the plan for the next 12 months or so is to order Coilovers, build some custom strut braces and focus on getting the suspension set up nicely. Once that's done I have a full manual conversion waiting to go in but it only has a 4 speed box so I need to find a getrag 260 for it. Finally I'm going to fit a M30B35 and piece together a turbo kit for it. I'm not planning any specific motor sport with it, but once I get it setup we'll I'm looking to do the odd Autocross event and track day. I've owned a few BMWs over the years. E82 135i N55 DCT stage 2 tuned, a couple of E46, E60 540i, F10 530D and an E53. I love bmws and my dream is to have a manual converted V10 E60 M5 one day (when fuel prices aren't so horrendous!)

222,500km Car has been undertaking it's daily duties nicely. Jammed it full of family stuff (and the family) over to the Wairarapa for school holidays recently. On a whim i decided to get some roofracks for either roofbox, bikerack, ladder carrying duties. Went with Thule Aero EVO bars and the roofrack mount. I'm impressed with the design, they fit nicely and the T bar system is quick and easy. Can't comment on the wind noise (i'm sure it exists) as haven't been on the motorway since fitting.

Most customers are aware of the situation, but there are some really entitled twats out there as well. “You want to know exactly when it will arrive Sir? Certainly, I’ll just phone the people in Ukraine that we are waiting on and see if they can hurry it along”
