I’m so glad my driveway is 900 meters long with what’s going on in the suburbs these days

Some of the items retrofitted are, HUD, latter rain light sensor fitted so the HUD would work, Light Module 2, LCI tail lights, Logic 7 amp and speakers, Combox, Aux, USB in the centre consol and in the glovebox. In addition to the above the Msport suspension was fitted, the E60 it came out of only had 70k on the clock so I took a chance with it. I removed the front and rear bumber and fitted a factory towbar to it and while the bumpers were off I found the rear and front bumper support had been bent which meant the bumpers didn't line up, a couple of replacement bumper supports fixed that and I found a few bits of plastic trim behind the front bumper are different between the Msport and standard trim bumpers. I also had to replace the centre panel of the rear bumper to accommodate the detachable towbar. The remainder of the trim behind the bumpers were sourced and finally the bumpers would fit correctly. Once the interior was mostly back together, and lockdown was finished I got the bumpers, sills, and bonnet painted, so everything was matching. Also fitted at the time were a set of style 172 rims, spiders as a lot of people call them. While the spiders looked good, they didn't "fill" the wheel arch, and looked too small............something had to change.

Yep but I still prefer mine...lol, at that price I'd rather spend a bit more and have a M5

true, and thats why most registered volunteer / club based organisations have elections at thier annual AGM. Even if there is only one candidate that stands and the vote is unanimous, the point is that everyone has had an opportunity to say, not just the handful of people that have the financial means and availability to get to an AGM on a particular evening. Edit: have just had a member message and say whats the difference to Bimmersport. The difference is that Bimmersport is a private company that derives revenue from selling advertising and merchandise to keep the lights on. It does not have members (or admin) that are obligated to pay to use the service.

Picked up the car on Sunday and brought it back to Wellington (on a trailer) Took the car for a road test, and all went really well! having not driven a 320d N47 before i wasnt really sure what to expect, but it has a fair bit of pep to it! No swirl flaps, dpf or egr, as well as a new turbo and hpfp means its the best it will be. I brimmed the fuel tank as the diesel in there has to be at least 6 months old, no doubt some is years old. noticed the gauge stayed at 1/3rd so thats another thing to add to the list of things to do. almost the entire drive the econometer gauge sat below 50mpg which means around 5L/100km. incredible. have a few other cars here I am working on that need to be prioritised, so probably wont get to this car for a while. I generally no longer bother with build threads, but I will try to keep motorvated to update and keep this thread alive since its a forum car!

I dont think its too suspicious, also since the listing is for a baur, i would imagine it could be an older person who is interested which may explain the dated(ish) email address and lack of trade history. Not everyone is constantly buying and selling on fb, they could have been referred the listing from a friend and have only used tm for a few transactions in the past etc. As others have said, give them a call and talk in person. Anything that suggests overseas or paypal then obviously stay away.

Well I have those and have saved my bacon a few times together with the reversing camera. Maybe they were installed because the car is HK new and parking is so hard in HK with space so limited>

Doing a Google search, ihug email addresses were only terminated at the end of 2019. That's not that long ago. An older non-tech person (lets face it older people go for soft tops) that doesn't need email address may not have registered a new once since.

Yes that green car was for sale dollar reserve a while ago. Sold for 4.4K (which I did think was a bit of a deal, but probably an indicator of what the market thinks its worth) and the person who bought it immediately relisted it trying to make a quick buck to no apparent avail so far. I watch E34 540s sales quite frequently, there was a red NZ New 2 owner example with 160,000km for 10K which sold in 48 hours. Other than that the sales are rather slow. Even an NZ New 118,000km E34 540i with a factory almost "iS" spec (aside from the most important bit... the manual) with all the M-tech goodies including an LSD, sports seats, shadow trim etc sat on the market for ages recently. Pretty sure it didn't pull much over 10K which really surprised me as that car was a bit of a unicorn. All it needed was the 420G and it's an un-official iS.... Maintenance is a very big thing, mine has done very high ks but was serviced religiously every 6 months from 2003-2019. Today mine actually clicked over to 376,000km! M60 B40 is a great engine if maintained properly. I honestly don't understand why 540 values are so poor, they are awesome cars. They have the classic BMW look but pack some pretty decent performance, great build quality and are relatively reliable if looked after. FAR superior to an LS400 of the same age imo. All NZ New cars up until 1996 (so basically all of them aside from a handful) are factory cat delete which is a nice bonus imo.

But if the duck has the $$$, give him the car! I think just go straight to setting criteria for the cash in hand, buyer to seller meet, it's a real quick way to let scammers know it isn't worth their time...

Seems quite simple to me, call the phone number. If you feel it is something "unpleasant" use your judgement and walk away. Unless we've missed something? As an aside we recently sold a high value item off TradeMe. The buyers account was registered in 2017, and this was the first trade. Your guy may be bonafide, and simply as suggested not kept the contact details up to date. Amazingly a larger percentage of the population than we think have very limited technical skills. Even in 2022 .😀

Sadly, this. Not that it is in any way unusual and most organisations have a few like this. Often they mean well and don't understand the impact (on others) of their way of working.
