BMW E36 Touring Have owned this wagon close to half a year, has served as a great daily driver, and perfect for road trips. Its a 318iA M43B18 automatic (avrg 300kms to half a tank). Picked up yet another blue bmw to add to the stables. I'll be keeping the engine but seeing if there was anyone interested in the rest? If not I'll part it out. It has an air suspension control fault. It has a new ride height sensor, and height control module but fault still remains. Compressor works but there is a CANBUS network error. I gave up as i only bought this for the engine. Gearbox shifts well. Test drives welcome and viewing recommended. Paint is below par. Looking for $2000 otherwise will strip for parts. On the topic of real estate parasites, I was sad to learn that a mate of mine had joined the loathsome ranks recently. Kicked off his "professional" Instagram page yesterday and deary me... Strong start indeed. Seems that being embarrassingly illiterate and/or dyslexic is a prerequisite to becoming a real estate agent nowadays.

I'm struggling to understand how a engine running perfectly at shut down one night, then come the following morning the piston rings have failed causing major compression loss and the engine not to fire. Is it worth getting a second opinion from a different workshop or doing a little more investigation yourself? It does not seem like the root cause of your problem has been identified.

If you haven't found out yet, the answer is "no" you would really need to code it out and put a loop in the MOST cable.

Back on the arts 'n crafts jobs now ... reeeeeally hoping a nicer flow through the MAF sensors sorts out the throttle response / hang and idle. Decided to mount the factory plastic MAF tubes inline with the new tubes to keep things simple and have the diameter / sensor readings match what the ECU is expecting. Have taped the tubes ready for wax and composite ... located a chap with some carbon sleeves also which will be awesome as I can get two layers of flat cloth on then fill and sand etc then two layers of the sleeve to finish.

I won't regret the end product, just all pain to get there 😆

When you are having a sh*t few days and wonder if working crazy hours with killer deadlines is all worth it, then do the school run and see another dad stop by the M5 with his son and say "wow that's a dream car". Then I got swamped by a hoard of primary school kids and the serenity was gone, but for a moment I felt good about the world.

8 hrs seems like alot of labour, but I'll take it on the chin and move on I guess! Trying to find a motor and I'll start on the swap as soon as I get the car back.

minister of transport actually just needs to step down, between land transport/rail/aircraft/sea.. we are lucky boats still apparently float.

I look after a considerable number of both systems at work ,used to love apple but since they dumbed it down to basically ios on a desktop and locked everything including the system drive not so much, Trying to get apple to work well in a windows network is nigh on impossible now. And yes I'm fully qualified in both and go back to windows 3.1 and mac 8. Apple tv is no match for a simple chinese no name windows tv box, especially if your into free stuff like popcorntime, torrents, kodi, skysports etc. A lot of things are still better on a web interface chrome/firefox/brave than the app version including trademe, dropbox, onedrive for example. Spotify is totally different on a browser to the app and I run that all weekend while doing the weekend stuff,sound is hooked up to the onkyo reciever. plenty of power and choices to run a huge photo music video library as well as gaming. add a webcam and its your portal to the grandkids overseas, you can even use it to record tv with a tivo like app if you want for later viewing currently using an intel nuc with a wireless keyboard touchpad combo a bit dearer than an appletv but well worth it and its just simple things like multiple web browsers with all their adblockers and extensions. Youtube with no ads, facebook, no ads, zoom , messenger video chat, windows 10 is so much better now with screen sharing, phone connections etc but it does need you to kinda know what your doing to get the best out of it. on the odd occasion I will click on a youtube link from my iphone and am reminded how I hate ads so much,
