4 pointsHey guys - recently picked up an m325i which I’m sure most would be familiar with.. Post the latest auction on trademe I had gotten in touch with the seller to organise a deal and here we are! Have come from a long line of silvia’s, ae86’s and the like so being my first E30, wanting to get an idea of the best sources for new replacement and used OEM parts, local workshops in Auckland etc etc. Cheers - and hope to catch you all soon.

2 pointsYeah $45k - hoping to meet up with the new owner for a Tech2 session soon

2 pointsI tell my reckons on a forum, not use trademe as a forum to derail a listing. Allowing Q&A on classified listings is still one of the shittiest things trademe did (other than increase prices through the roof); so many time wasting keyboard warriors that wouldn't have previously bothered to make private contact. Imagine calling someone to say their price is too high, but no you're not actually interested in buying it, you just wanted them to know. If anyone hasnt clicked, my whole stance is due to the title of this thread.

2 pointsNo just stating facts, reasoning behind the airbag recall has no link to whether the airbag light is present on the dash. Your anti dealer tirade is getting pretty tiresome

1 pointHelps for when you do the rear subframe eccentric adjusters too, less toe out to start with the better.

1 pointSwapped my springs out - looking for a slightly more age-appropriate (myself and the car) stance and comfort level. Replaced the ST Springs (50mm/40mm) with the popular H&R Sport 29664-1 springs (35mm/35mm). Really happy with them - have gained a very useful 10-15mm height all-round but car still looks great and sporty - ride quality is significantly improved as well (and I didn't feel the ST's were harsh). Possibly a slightly less performance orientated spring (?) but I already have larger sway bars and sticky tyres for fun stuff anyway.

1 pointI wondered if Malachite Green was the original colour - seems it is

1 pointVery is the answer. Last time I raced I was weighed at 1085kg, with me around 90kg, making car just under the tonne. That was with fibreglass bonnet, guards and bumpers. Plastic windows, gutted door shells, etc. Have pulled lots of wiring out, cut off lots of studs and brackets, drilled lots of holes in anything non-structural. Will be interesting how light I can get, especially in the front for better balance. As Dan said it’s the four pot S14B20 motor so good weight saving over the M20.

1 pointMy old (UK) 1984 E30 with the M10 turbo was tuned back to 435whp for the road, and weighed just under 1000kg. I'm proud to say I drove it every day (in part, a reason for the detune) for over 6 months. Without a rebuild. (If we can exclude clutches....) Edit: the 1984 318 E30 was quoted as being 1030kg ex-factory.

1 pointAt the end of a race the 320's had to weigh over 1175kgs and the 318s 1075kgs. I ran a 320. Weighed about 100kgs. And had around 30kgs of lead placed around the car for balancing. Sometimes more. Car was a full body 4 door PFL. No light weight parts as they are not allowed. Stripped interior. No sound deadening. That is really it. Jons car has/will have a S14B20. Or did you go bigger? Wifes 200SX is 1200kgs and 270rwkw @ 500nmish My E55 is 1800kgs and 320rwkw @ 700nm

1 pointE30 race car, assuming I ever get it finished and back on the track. Aiming to get the car down to the 2ltr class minimum weight limit of 1,040kg including driver. Engine is rated at 190bhp standard which is probably about where it sits currently -lost a few geegees over time v gained a few with mods. More than enough for me!

1 pointI have an F30 330e. I live in Wellington and easily get to and from work on electric only. The charge says 25kms which is about right. We've had the car for 12 months and we've averaged 3.5l/100kms in that time which is very good. These cars deliver their economy in city driving not open road. Don't buy one thinking you're going to sub 3/100kms on the open road. On trips we average about 5l/100kms

1 pointSomeone must have taken a piss in Grouchy Smurf's coffee yesterday. We've all been there.

1 pointNo one needs to tell him it's overpriced, go get a life. There isn't a rule that you MUST tell someone of your reckons. What he does need to sort before trying to sell it for that much, is the dash lights and lack of cert.
-
1 pointYeah way overpriced - sounds someone has done a conversion (maybe Getrag) thrown some headers on it and called it a day. I bet extensive service history doesn't amount to much, probably just repairs needed to keep it running and legal. I don't think any stock'ish non M E46 is worth more 20k in current market regardless of work done. (EDIT: Mine is valued at 18k independently)

1 pointYuuur not sure, I assume they put them in place pretty accurately ... I should have made a little jig to test them out hmmmm. When my new Powerflex bushes arrive i'll try and remember to check it out 👍 Made up the remaining lower bracket for the dry sump tank which is adding some piece of mind, although it was very secure with just the top mount installed. Replaced all of the shocks with the near new items I got from @Eagle, which is great as it has a go at a WoF today (essentially generation of another todo list probably hah). Drivers airbag was replaced this morning at BMW under recall but alas did not clear down the code there Will start a thread for that as will need to get it resolved. Completed the custom pool noodle intake tubes, could have spent longer getting them looking perfectly round / smooth but compromised to get things moving. Got a custom can of 2k clear satin to finish them up but ended up with a lot of pinholes for some reason. Still look ok, just don't inspect closely !! Finally got the air filters installed which is pretty exciting ... had to change out to some compact models as the original cheap pod's I got were never going to fit once the guard liners were in place.

1 pointHere’s something you certainly don’t see everyday, especially on a grey Thursday morning! First Lagonda I’ve ever seen in person.
