And today I replaced the black wheels with the rubbish tyres with a set I've had stripped, straightened, painted and wrapped in PS4's. I think this is the best cosmetic change I've made.

Thanks, all I'm doing is returning it to stock. I think the E60 M5 is classy enough as it is, so why change it. Maybe I'm getting old !

For the price of $2-3K for an Eisenmann exhaust box I'd rather do this because its considerably cheaper and more fun, it also preserves the stock look of the car, I want zero aftermarket parts on it. But of course it depends how it sounds, I am confident it will sound quite good, but if not back to the drawing board!

Looks nice to me. Throw a warranty on it and go for gold.

Been a while! Some more small work done, recently changed diff oil and also discovered a leak around valve cover gasket - replaced the gasket, but since it was my first time after quite a while doing surgical stuff around the engine bay (my last engine I opened was converting a 50cc scooter to 70cc in high school :D) the leak is still there - I guess I should clean the damn thing properly before putting it back together, silly me! What's the best way to clean VANOS? as you can see it's quite dirty: The rear rotors & pads have also been sitting at home for a couple of weeks, so that's next thing that's getting done. And I finally fitted new tyres at the rear. Then off to changing belts and pulleys which are still sitting in the cart on FCPEuro website :D I am also experiencing a quiet whine when accelerating from say 20-30km/h coming from the rear, it then comes back when cruising 50km/h with small throttle applied. After changing diff oil it got a bit quieter, but still there. What should be the first thing to consider here? Since it only does it when there's torque present. It's about time I post one photo of the car from last summer, maybe someone recognizes it: Hopefully next month we move to a new place with a garage or carport, so I can finally work on the thing at home and not at the workplace warehouse on weekends :D Plus I'm getting a company vehicle as a daily driver, so this one can stay put for a while!

With biarritz also came a set of style 32 staggered wheels and I thought I'd throw them on topaz to see how they look. Once refurbed they may find their way onto titan.

Hey can we close this thread down quick please - we don’t want the general public to know that these cars, well e34’s for that matter, are the next collectable modern bmw. And then become unobtainable for us mere mortals. Thanks! 😎😎😎

Further to what @ssbmw said, two 540i LE's have sold for $48.5K and $50K respectively inside the last 24hrs. Always good to keep a weather eye on carsales.com.au Pic attached is the "unicorn" possibly the last 540i/6 produced #797/797 and the last M-Sport optioned car produced; 21xxx km as of 07/21 😮

Bought some bits from FCP Euro and fck me if they didn't fold the rear window trim in half to get it in the box. I know people with half a brain cell who wouldn't have done this.

Believe it or not, that panel needed another few light runs of filler, some very deceptive low spots still, this curve is without a doubt taking me on a panel crash course from hell. But yeah for real, she's done. Well Im struggling to see where she's not good, so that's good enough for me. Walking a fine line to insanity getting this right. Slapped down some base coat to get some shadows showing, and she looks mint I was talking to a panel beater today and he laughed saying that what I'm dealing with is normal, happens on nearly every job Hopefully wrap up the other side on Saturday! Already put alot of work into it. But haven't applied a fine tooth comb over it like this side

...... started having power hesitation on the way home, maybe fuel pump, dunno haha. Temperature is fine. Coolant level sensor kept coming on, scaring the crap out of me because I know the overflow tank is about to bust. The brake noise is nearly gone. I guess the wear sensors must be gone now ??? And Omg just saw the rotational tyres on the wrong way. In paeroa now at the inlaws hopefully I make it home, 70km to go. Living life on the edge boys!
