The brake switch itself is adjustable. Pull the pedal back as far as it will go and try again. Otherwise replace the switch. Also check the switch mount isn't bent

Thanks Chris I'm pleased you noticed the difference Always been my advice.... lifetime is bullshit... Even BMW had gearbox & diff service intervals before the advent of "lifetime oil bullshit" Oil breaks down and gets contaminated . Lifetime might only mean something to manufacturers that are engineering their vehicles to have a recycling lifetime of 3-5 years which is now happening in the industry.

Brake light circuit fault on the display is for the circuit in the 4 pin brake light switch that goes to the ABS control unit. The other circuit in the brake light switch is for the brake lights. I would recheck the switch

Make sure you buy a quality scanner to reverse all the sh*t you may cause by doing what you are not sure you should be doing, which could also include replacing control units
