Wicked. You're not doing things by half and that's encouraging plus great results.
  2. $120 from the local dealer last time I checked ~18 months ago.

You've misunderstood Tom and given the circumstances that's okay. As I said I wish the best for your family at this difficult time. However the claim about this cars capability has nothing to do with your current situation. You've made the claim in a for sale ad on a enthusiasts' forum no less, you must have expected to be asked to substantiate it and really, that should not create any drama. So, let's have an objective discussion about it and share the details, it can only help to sell the car.
  4. Okay, slow Dave gets it now... "a bit much" means $$$. ? But so, so sexy.
  5. Why do you say "a bit much"? I love those wheels, have ever since I saw them way back when I was dreaming of owning a BMW.
  6. It's a difficult one. I can't recommend taking the system apart just to try a restrictor because I'm not sure that's the cause but it's the only suggestion I have. I recall reading up about it when I did my E36 -> E46 swap also. I can't find all the info I read but I did find this just now which supports my recollection: Source: https://www.chasebays.com/products/chase-bays-power-steering-kit-bmw-e30-w-s50-s52
  7. Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW all use restrictors in various versions of their setups and I suspect it's common across other brands also. BMW only added the restrictor in to later e36's and IIRC it was to address exactly the problem you're facing. Does the return line you're using have a crimp or hose clip of any description about half way along? If not it has no restrictor. You can just see it in the top of this pic... If not that may be your issue but I can't be sure of course!
  8. Your pic isn't visible to me. This is an interesting scenario... did you install a restrictor in your new return line? https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1827109-WTB-Power-Steering-Hose-Limiter-Restrictor http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/1176344 If you have fluid coming out of the vent hole on the reservoir and frothing in the reservoir then a restrictor may be required.

    SOLD - 2002 E46 M3

What a tasty selection of parts. It's sad that you have to sell this Tom and best wishes for the sale and the family. Really? With just the intake and DME? Original M3 headers and cams? Verses your CSL? That's pretty impressive (colour me a little sceptical), what were the numbers and can you please post the graphs? I'm keen to see how the torque curves compare and what corrections were applied.
  10. Nice choice and welcome. Have you priced up a manual conversion yet? ?
  11. Photos aren't great but I can see if I can put my hands back on these if you think they might help?

    Induction charging

Probably for the same reason we don't have hydrogen balloons...
  13. I call BS. $14k, no description, rubbish photos, not answering questions and "good project" wtf?
  14. ^ I like 50% of that post. And it's it's not the BMW 50%.

But you have children, that's exactly what they're for right? Little hands.

    Induction charging

I always wondered why this wasn't the default when the first mass market EV's came out...
  17. Hang on a sec, are cable ties not BMW approved for all repairs? Seems entirely fitting for a 6 figure and 400 hp car!

    Gissa job!

    But will it leak?

    X7...

Yeah... and since I travel through the "GZ" regularly you can bet it will be a nightmare for me! I dropped a couple of girls ("young ladies"?) off at St Cuths a while back and I was surrounded by a sea of these trucks. Took me an hour and 10 mins to get in and out... ?

F*#k, they're making these inconsiderate monstrosities even bigger? Seriously, the thoughtlessness of people that drive these things in the city or park them on residential roads astounds me.

    Gissa job!

Most importantly, in construction you can see, touch and feel exactly what you've designed and built after you've done it, it's a visceral satisfaction. Not so much in IT.

    Gissa job!

I think the background question is relevant to infrastructure, perhaps not so much for networks. A relevant background means you'll come in with an existing understanding of the systems in place, the topology of the environment, where business pressure and pain comes from, an industry understanding of online and batch operations, regulatory requirements etc, etc. Is it compulsory? Shouldn't be but it's a competitive advantage over an otherwise equal candidate. I emphasis my insurance, telco and media industry background(s) for this reason.
  23. The airbag and seatbelt lights will illuminate if the seats or belts are disconnected whilst the battery is connected. They need to be reset with the right equipment, I doubt they're related to your other problems.
  24. We don't know, we can't hear it. Does what's happening sound like the description in the link I provided? If so then yes, it's probably normal. But a lot depends on what type f gearbox you have (auto, manual, DCT) and exactly what/when the engine revs. New management systems will "blip" the throttle a little bit between downshits, that's to match the revs. Not all cars do this.
  25. What type of gearbox does it have? Are you describing "rev matching" (http://www.drivingfast.net/rev-matching/) if so, it might be normal.
