^ I've watched it 5+ times and still don't get it... there no way a couple of E36's and a Mitsi Evo are passing that thing at 280km/h whilst accelerating... So, if it's not entirely fake just a warm-up lap with the speed graphics faked?
-
I reckon I could do that in the 328.

I'm not sure, 5 years is towards the edge of feasibility in this market. Give me an OpenStack engineer with 2 years experience over somebody who drew a cloud on a whiteboard at an architecture conference 5 years ago any time. The thing is these often aren't hard requirements. If I believe I can do the job based on the description I'll ignore the list of qualifications.

I've never seen an e36 coupe with chrome upper window trim, interesting. Cool project, what's wrong with the 328 if you got it for almost nothing?
-
And pics of the new seats front and rear... considering these look nearly new and my old ones looked (and felt) terrible this is a HUGE upgrade... really like the Motorsport fabric as well. ? ?

And typically ECS are way more expensive and crazy shipping prices! Schmiedmann's shipping prices are also creeping up and that's why I'm finding FCP a better bet these days. I've never found ECS to be price competitive.

If you're going to do water pump and thermostat and housing (all a good idea) then you should consider replacing the associated coolant hoses, expansion tank, level sensor and radiator. Hoses can be any brand really but I'd stick with OE sensor and expansion tank and an OEM (Behr) radiator. I'd price it all up at FCP Euro and Schmiedmann to compare. Depending on which car the M52 comes in you may have the "small" radiator option and if that's the case then a good upgrade is the "warm climate" setup. If the car's an import from Japan it will most likely come with a warm climate version. Both are quite different and require different parts so it's best to research that first. Other than that these things are pretty damn robust so nothing other "big" to really worry about for reliability.

Interesting Q&A regarding certification...
-
Yep, expired reg and wof... poor car...
-
As a matter of interest what happens if you de-reg a car and then want to re-reg it? Can you change the type then?

Immediately around the corner from my place, still there. The tickets are getting removed from the windscreen each week... odd. As soon as that stops I'll claim salvage!

VRSF Group buy/order with possible discounts.

But he's right, those prices are crazy! Nice can BTW Maxwell, I think YTD was joking around with you. -
And I didn't want to spend anything on the 328... but it sucked me in. The power to spend is strong with these old cars... Mind you most of it was bits I had lying around, $700 for a new cooling system, wheels, tyres, interior and suspension isn't that bad I suppose. Front bumper is only $50...

lol, you're insatiable, hope you got it for a steal! 2 x red Ti's at Zebra Onehunga if you need parts. They were still pretty complete a couple of weeks ago.

Finally installed the M3 rear sway bar into the 328 which now completes that suspension job F+R. The M3 one is only 2mm larger so I'm not going to notice any difference but having a matching set is nice. In the process I learned the 328 has a heavy-arse vibration damper bolted (and tethered) to the exhaust... has anyone removed that to see what happens? Seems like a bit of a kludge to me.

I thought that auction starting price was the buy now price and thought "yep that is a good price"! I like the look, pity the PO didn't know how to park or reverse. Wonder what it will go for?
-
95 will be fine for sure.
-
Damn, where do you find that glow-in-the-dark masking tape? Need a special effects artist from the set of Tron to ruin my car too.

30mm Hg? Vacuum cleaner with lots of holes in the pipe?

Hopefully surveys like that will encourage brands such as BMW to (re)introduce simple, mechanical, manual cars with as few electronics as practical for real enthusiasts. I don't even want automatic lights or windscreen wipers, I know when to turn both on. A touch screen radio interface would drive me spare (and I wonder why touch screens are even legal).

Yahoo, group skids on Sunday! ?
-
Yes, but they'll all be over-assisted transportation capsules rather than something you drive. That being said, this one doesn't seem like it's lacking much.
-
Moving the COG back will shift the balance back, yes. What's important is not what the PO had installed but that you're installing the correct part. Did you get the part number and mounts from a reputable place? It looks like the original piece has the top broken off it? Or perhaps they cut the top off to "slam" the car? You may need to check the rear as well if the rake is wrong. Nice one on the strut nut! ?
