Hi Brad, no price in mind yet. I only have the rear seats (coupe - yes it matters for the rear) which have been refinished with new motorsport material inserts and door cards to suit. To be honest I mentioned that a bit tongue in cheek - they're not going to match your front seats. It's practically impossible to "restore" the seats you have without getting them recovered which is expensive. However the do come up for sale reasonably frequently and that may be your best route.

If you have a spark plug socket that fits you can use a spanner on the external hex end of that and an allen key though the middle.

FWIW Dave, your signature doesn't show up. You may see it because it's in your cache but "http://s25.postimg.org/4ese3rwwv/signiture_pic.jpg" no longer works...

Congrats! Keep us posted.

To be honest, just keep an eye out for a replacement set. You should be able to pick up nice ones for less than $100. Or keep an eye out for the motorsport ones I'm about to sell!

So I just got around to finishing this, not a bad watch. It's a very cool car but I wonder just how much of it will be working in 10 years, how much it will cost to replace that touch screen for example. And how much will the subscriptions and plans required to keep it all functional cost after the warranty expires? I'd love the privilege of owning one of these new but after 3-5 years, not so much.

That's just dumb. And either paddle is up (pull) or down (push)??? SMH.

Good stuff and welcome! How is the downshift from the factory?

Some fine (if not cold) weather and I got the bugger out. After a week sitting there with no bolts it just fell off when I removed the dipstick tube. ? Getting it out around everything was a bit of a jigsaw but not too bad in the end. It would be much easier without an auto tranny and the fluid lines up to the cooler.

Don't worry, Sky will have the World Cup too, mark my words. Already Sky and Spark working together. And Sky have just launched FanPass mobile, main sports channels for $16 / month, no contracts, max 6" screen (but you'll be able to get around that as long as you're not silly enough to use an Apple device).

Torque converter? WTF! ?

Only one more ep of Billions this season... The only reason I have Sky is for Sports - it's just too difficult to find streams for all of the live sport I watch. And to be honest, Sky is good value in that regard. Movies and TV shows are just a couple of clicks away to d/load. I'm glad I learnt how to use Usenet and IRC in the late 80's!

It's actually $50 (min cost if you want Turbo) but that's still a lot if you only get it for 1 channel!

No serial port = no ADS. Period. ADS uses a specific hardware address that can not be mapped to USB. INPA and DIS use ADS. ADS is the only protocol that allows access to all modules. But you may not need all modules so USB alone could be fine, especially if you can activate individual components. If you can find a docking station for that Presario that has a serial port that'll probably work. My HP laptop doesn't have a serial port but the docking station does and that works just fine with INPA/DIS. Version of Windows doesn't matter either, it just has to be 32bit.

Discovery Turbo has some good shows from time to time.

This for $1800 (offer $1500) and then a tranny swap? https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1646829127.htm Looks pretty clean tbh. I'd snap it up in a heartbeat if I needed one (and it ran well and had clean oil). Edit: I realise you're probably not looking for a project lol but... https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/gear-boxes/auction-1651630700.htm ?

Bring it to the AK coffee meet.

I can take some more no problem. Mark (@sweetm3) made it, it works very well indeed. I did give it a good try, no joy. But as it stands I think I can work around it okay.

Still, nice hookup. Is the tyre machine contactless?

You have these? At home?

Cool... but please don't assume the USB->Square will work with my setup because mine is configured to use the RS232 port and I'm loathe to muck around with that. It may however be suitable for other, USB-based INPA/DIS setups. If you run out of options and think that other kit I have might be of use I won't need immediate payment FWIW.

Hmm, well I have INPA and DIS but my cable has the round connector using ADS as the interface. If somebody has the appropriate converter then perhaps we can sort something out? Alternatively, I still have the one you gave back to me, did you try that on the diesel in the end (http://www.bavariantechnic.com/modelfeaturematrix.aspx)?

Have you plugged it into a proper tool like DIS (such as in that pdf)? What type of diagnostic port does it have, round pac-man or the square-ish one?

Replacement sump and gasket both landed... sets me up for a fun long weekend! Don't think I'll get back under today and my parents have their 50th wedding anniversary (!) on Saturday so perhaps Sunday afternoon, all day Monday, we'll see. Thanks again to @BimmerShaun for a good deal, easy transaction and fast delivery on the replacement sump, it looks to be in great condition! ? Any thoughts on whether to use any sealant and if so how much and where? The gasket actually has what looks to be a sealing material already applied to each side (the black stuff in the picture). Cheers. The great news is that the difficult to get to bolt into the transmission will just need to be tight (but not too tight) and not specifically torqued as it's not a sealing bolt.
