  1. It's a great museum and the factory tour was grouse also. If anybody does go to Munchen you also must visit the Deutsches Museum, one of the best in the world. You might need 2 days for that alone (I did). It was actually there that I got to operate a BMW car assembly robot to install a front seat in an E39!
  2. Yeah, I don't get it. That must be bait pricing.
  3. Looks like exactly what I need, that's awesome, cheers bro!
  4. Nice. Hope you didn't pay OEM prices for the hardware!!
  5. lol - I thought of that as I posted but also know you'd notice it immediately! I was just thinking you might be too awed to care.
  6. Well, this is escalating fast... Fabric panels to be replaced with M Rain, I'll leave the leather, it'll match the door cards that I don't yet have. Need a seatbelt, should be easy. $12.50 all up - thanks Lucan!
  7. No idea on price sorry but I'm keeping an eye on this thread, lovely wheels!
  8. Size? But whatever size they are I'll give you $100, $200 if you include the tyres!
  9. High stop (3rd) brake light must activate with brakes under all circumstances in NZ. As long as that's the case I don't see a problem with BFD.
  10. I suspect it will require a cert even though the bases I want are designed to couple the SRx's to the E36, are genuine Recaro and have belt receptacles built in. The question is, will the WoF people even be able to tell they're not stock...
  11. Sweet, that's good to hear Tom. I'll tackle disassembly and cleaning hopefully before the next weekend is out.
  12. Also just found out the seller has new bolsters for them also which he's going to drop off, sweet! And, dreading the worst I pulled out the genuine Alcantara I have and it's an exact colour match. This will allow me to replace any of the less than perfect panels. Looks like the entire seats will need to be unstitched and re-sewn to put new bolsters in anyway unless I find otherwise when I disassemble them.
  13. Yes, you're correct, I looked up the wrong reference pics! Auction didn't reference the type, that was my error.
  14. Looks like I'll be cleaning seats this week/end... 2 x Recaro SR3's with fold forward leavers on the backrests.
  15. With CSL seats they'd have no concept of NVH from bushings lol! They could use bricks as struts and not feel any difference. I disagree in principle that solid bushings should be used on a road car. Anecdotal evidence ain't gonna sway me.
  16. Okay bitch. Feel guilty!
  17. Those cars were designed for it Tom and distribute the NVH elsewhere.
  18. You shouldn't feel guilty about any of these Neal!
  19. Oh gosh no, do not use solid bushings for a street car! And you'll need your subframe reinforced anyway so don't look to bushings to get out of that task. Although I thought the tearing was only an M3 problem?
  20. Apex Tool Group are the Australasian distributors represented by Digi-Key here in NZ. Apex Au have a Warranty statement (pdf) on their web site. Perhaps you could try one of those leads if you haven't already? I know your pain, I love my Weller.
  21. Got ya!
  22. Can't help with your problem sorry but if it gets replaced surely you'd get it replaced with a NZ unit?

    RACE CAR WANTED

Not many of these around... http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/specialist-cars/competition-cars/auction-912094540.htm
  24. Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were saying that if the air-con compressor failed it shut down the main water pump (for the engine coolant). That would be more than stupid, especially since I assume the compressor is clutched which would make it not only stupid but also entirely unnecessary. Shutting down an essential component because a non-essential one had failed is not very German. No sarcasm, not emoji required. Please tell me I misunderstood!
