  1. So, both alternative keys engage with the lock and turn the barrel but the main key does not? And the spare key won't start the car? Try holding the (edit: head of the) main key up to the ignition whilst attempting to start the car with the spare (not valet) key.
  2. Bye-bye Baby Blue. You were unwanted but nevertheless loved and appreciated and you left stronger than you arrived. Farewell, Godspeed. Sold!
  3. Working around a fundamental security shortcoming shouldn't be necessary. This should have been addressed within days of it popping up (actually before it happened would have been smart). It's now been like this for months which reflects poorly on the owners and administrators. But yes, don't reuse passwords.
  4. Still accepting offers, perfect for that poverty spec e36 you're restoring to concours condition.
  5. Forgot about this until I stubbed my toe on it the other day. Still available. Must remember to start a $1 auction.
  6. Just checked, CRC Plastic & Rubber Doctor. No idea how long it will last but it still looks black some 5 months later.
  7. This. I've never been big on radar detectors but the first time I get a ticket for <5km/h I'm going to get one.
  8. Yes. And your first argument is that you can't be held accountable for the inevitable variances in measuring equipment, recently calibrated or otherwise. i.e. a car speedo (+/-5km/h), or a speed camera/gun (+/-3km/h). They originally justified the "tolerance" on "measuring equipment" variances. Use it against them.
  9. And you got pinged. ? Sorry. ?
  10. This is true but being pulled over isn't the problem, it's all the f'ing imbeciles that will use this as a license to travel at 96km/h or 48km/h.
  11. So, apparently this just happened... "Zero Tolerance" speed limits now enforced 24/7? ? https://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/opinion/122616782/zerotolerance-speed-regime-a-hard-sell
  12. Yep. Yep (although this pic is of a PFL but same rules apply).
  13. Rear spoiler: no idea sorry and I've looked at a lot trying to find one I like for mine. But that one does look good, it seems to fit really well. Intakes: I know right? Somebody needs to send some intake love my way. ePAS: We're lucky as the Japanese LCI's are all hydro units. The UK guys say the electric ones are vague, some even retrofit HPAS.
  14. Sold to a Bimmersporter pending deposit. Deposit received. Sold. ?
  15. I have too many already! And the temptation of an Alpine White manual with a CF airbox might be too much!
  16. That looks pretty f'in nice actually...
  17. I don't think it's complicated, but like anything valuable or volatile you want to treat it with care and respect.
  18. That looks the biz. Can you reach your sunglasses from your seat? ?
  19. Of course, that is true, there will be many applications the one you have are suitable for. Funnily enough the charger for my RC batteries is 10A running off a 20A power supply, all of these car chargers are pussies really! Except those Deutronik beasts @The Bimmer mentioned above.
  20. Perhaps but they're hardly consumer-level chargers. Meh. That charger you linked to is 1.5A so will take days to charge a nearly flat battery. That's actually less amps than the maintenance mode on my second charger (Protector brand I think). I'd challenge anyone to find a quality 5A charger designed for vehicles for less than the CTEK I've linked to.
  21. Sweet, it'll be a few hours before I hit go. My Schmiedmann basket is fuller than my FCP one (which is only because the US never go the e87).
  22. Hi there, I'm probably placing others with both companies this evening (31 August), does anybody have anything they want me to throw in the cart(s) to check shipping value? If you do, post the part numbers or FCP/Schmiedmann links here, please be specific.
  23. Batteries on new cars need to be registered if they're replacing the same capacity battery, there's additional coding required if the replacement battery has different specs. Both of these only apply if you're changing the battery though, not just charging it. @m325i - you'll probably need a charger with a restoration mode, like the CTEK (which are the favoured chargers on the market).
