  1. If you also need the "pork chops" I have L+R OE brand new (51711977117+51711977118). Feel free to look up the retail price and send me a PM, you can have them for retail without any shipping overheads (assuming you can pick them up in Ellerslie or Newmarket).
  2. Yes, it's clear at normal ride height... but not if I got airborne! Sure, it will only make contact under limited circumstances but it shouldn't at all really. I'm regularly putting my cars on stands and wouldn't want to bother with this every time, you can't really remove it or put it on unless you undo the drop links or prop up the hubs. I don't think getting it cut would be that expensive but I've not explored that yet.
  3. But why ruin a good sway bar? I could just remove it altogether and put it up for $1 reserve, I'll come out ahead that way. ?
  4. So, after some trials and tribulations I got the undertray installed today but she's not ready to drop off the stands because the tray fouls the sway bar (at full droop). Perhaps they haven't found the perfect solution? ? It will be easy enough to fix by trimming ~10mm off the rear of the tray but that shouldn't be necessary. I've gone back to Turner, who have been great so far, but I can't imagine what type of solution they can offer. That issues aside the tray is awesome and locks the whole front end, including my new arch liners together, it's far superior to the jumble of stock plastic bits!
  5. I have an aftermarket PCV (of all things), do you think that would affect this recall?
  6. I haven't kept an eye on prices tbh, didn't realise they were easing up. Not a bad car of course, loved mine for what it was.
  7. I sold mine for less than 3 grand and that was practically mechanically rebuilt from the ground up and had a completely replaced, mint M-Rain/leather interior. I'm not sure they're worth over 4 or 5 grand in auto to be honest. Why would they be when you can get an E46 or E8x 6 cylinder for similar money?
  8. I do have the Rain-X, was like 50% off at SuperCheap a few weeks back, haven't added it yet. I just replaced my rear wiper motor, maybe when this one breaks I can consider the delete again! ?
  9. They do look good on a black car... One side: Both sides:
  10. I didn't know that Vehicle Parts site existed, must check it out. Auction was buy now for $150. They've followed up, it's legit. It will probably sit at home unpainted for quite some time I'd imagine.
  11. Hmm, let's see how this works out, I'll be arranging cash on collection, nothing else. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/listing/2794775974
  12. Perhaps if you'd lead with "that article does makes sense but I don't think it's entirely true" the discussion might have turned out different? Regardless, I appreciate the concession, you can enjoy continuing without me.
  13. I'm not really sure what people aren't understanding, this is a BMW document, that disclaimer is for the web site that's publishing it. Exactly the same information is in BMW's applications, surely some of you have it installed or have at least used it? For crying out loud I'm telling you what BMW has been saying in the same document for what, 15 years? Or are you all somehow adamant this isn't official BMW info and I'm just making it up? Holy crap. ?
  14. This one's been up for a few days, stock-as but priced sharply at $6,900 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2791722231 If it's genuinely been regularly serviced at ACBMW then it should be in very clean condition (I'd ask for receipts). If anyone takes it for a test drive and wants to swing by Ellerslie I can plug it in for you for free. I'm working from home most of the time at the moment. Oh, and I can sell you some LCI lights if you prefer them. ?
  15. No, the last time I wrote to BMW was in in the early 90's and I got a invite to their Mt Wellington headquarters. That was cool of them to do. They send pens to people they don't have time for. And I don't disagree with their technical documents but we've already established that. It was a suggestion for people like you who claim to know better than BMW themselves. ?
  16. Do NOT get Carly now, it's a ripoff with their subscription model. Bimmergeeks you can actually do for next to nothing with with software, a laptop and a cheap adaptor. Bimmercode is my recommendation for a phone app at the moment but I've not tried the BG ProTool option.

    Going drifting

Liquid rewards well deserved it seems.
  18. You guys should let BMW know you think you've found a mistake in their technical documents, they'd probably appreciate that. They might send you a free pen.
  19. It's just as likely to be intermittent as it is permanent really. Something is using a larger amount of power than it should when the car is sleeping, it could be a anything really, do you have an aftermarket alarm (are they still a thing?) or any aftermarket entertainment equipment? See if you can find somebody close to you in Welly with the BMW software that can do a free scan for you (rather than $60 - $120 at a shop) and when/if the code code pops up again don't clear it but get the computer read. That will tell you how much excessive power is being drawn and how often it's happened (since the codes were last cleared). That will indicate the size of the problem you're facing.
  20. You're right about that, sorry (now edited). With respect to your comments, sometimes I just find them overwhelming. I'm comfortable with my acceptance of BMW's technical documentation in this case.
  21. I was impressed to see that the e8x has this function, plugging it in to a computer will only tell you the size of the "increased discharge" but not what's causing it. It might not be a big problem Brian, I'd clear the code, charge the battery and see if it comes back.
  22. TIS is BMW's knowledgebase, ISTA and DIS contain exactly the same info. Edit: I didn't see all the other replies but I'm going to believe BMW. smh ?
