  1. I've still got the M3 with Swann under a "not a daily driver" policy... did I hear recently they're no longer offering this product? Or is that something anyone has checked out recently?
  2. Be careful about what you read on the internet. In cars with a MAF sensor, like yours, the IAT sensor is only a failsafe (and a great diagnostic tool), if you unplug it you will notice no difference at all as long as your MAF is working properly.
  3. lol, wtf were the tyre pressures in that first video?!? They were almost squealing when it was going straight. I loved how the Evo had the JDM 180km/h speedo and he was banging off the end. Anybody that owned an Evo of that era should have known to get the 300km/h Ralliart unit. I used to have an Evo VI (6.5 actually and a IV before that) and it would catch, chew up and spit out a 130i and move on without blinking. In fact I'd back it against most NA M cars when it was running high boost (1.5 bar). 4G63 FTW.
  4. Unlikely although I've not spent a lot of time looking. I do need to get the Euro v's USA M5 rotors though, that's a trick for the inexperienced. The US got gipped on the E39 M5, not as bad as the their E36 M3, but they still didn't get the real thing.
  5. Yep. Although it remains to be seen if the trimming is actually necessary, I haven't done any research on pad overhang...
  6. Relocating it will only hurt, it will send the wrong data to the DME. Intake air temp is measured for air density (volume) not actual temperature and the car fuels accordingly. The lower temp the better (more dense air ergo more volume) so trying to bring that down is a good goal. Wrapping your intake in heat shielding can make a difference but you need to consider whether it's actually worth the effort. As you've noticed it only really helps when you're going slow or not moving at all. However, if your IAT never gets close to ambient (e.g. at speed) then your intake is inefficient.
  7. If my plan comes together, like a cunning fox, then I'll be Frankensteining and using e39 M5 rear rotors... ??
  8. Thanks guys, it's interesting that the instructions stipulate new front plates but to trim the stock rear ones... @Jacko did you buy new rear plates? Can't put your finger on a part number can you? Also, did you get your braided lines and rotors locally or from abroad? Either way, whereabouts? Cheers. ?
  9. Hey Chris, when you did your brakes did you have to change the rear dust covers to fit the BMWP callipers?
  10. They look great! Good form, where did you get yours from? Mine should arrive this week.
  11. It's surely not low enough for a normal curb to do that?!?
  12. I ticked off six years at the end of August, couldn't be happier and I know I'll never have another, I've not even been tempted. I feel better, don't stink and food and beer tastes way nicer! In those six years I've saved over $35k and that's at the price of cigarettes when I gave up, they're 50% more expensive now! ? Well done Glenn and anybody else that has stayed the course. ?
  13. Indeed, welcome and that's a sharp looking car! Exciting. ?
  14. Afraid not, just a nice 2009 Onkyo that does all the basics well.
  15. If you're going to get one down the line tap me on the shoulder, might piggyback. I doubt any of them do anything other than look okay or bad. I also suspect that rather than downforce they just add drag. ?
  16. Sorry, I was referring to another one and failed to include the link... ?‍♂️ https://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/spoiler-cap-bmw-1-e81-e87
  17. I succeeded in installing the new arch liners today, not a terribly difficult job once you've lined everything up and it looks so much better now and they don't flap around in places. I ordered 2 x Turner Motorsport undertrays in the first lockdown (April) and they only arrived the other week. I realised they were on backorder but June slipped to July which slipped to August and then September so I did start to get a little concerned but they arrived well packed in the end, Turners aren't a particularly high risk. But my install attempt failed, they missed sending a rivnut tool with my order but no worries, mate has a mechanical rivnut gun. No bueno. The mandrel on the gun is too short for the longer rivnuts included in the pack and there's no way in hell I can get enough leverage to squeeze the handles to collapse the smaller nuts (which are stronger than the long ones). They've posted the tool and that should be here by next weekend. I have another method to try tomorrow which is essentially the same approach as their tool, we'll see how that goes. Both involve nuts, bolts, spanners and ratchets and, whilst more complex to arrange than with a gun tool (barely) you can lean on a spanner or ratchet assembly so much easier. Regardless, the tray and accompanying hardware is excellent and they've fixed all of the design problems of earlier trays (such as the Motion Motorsport one). I've been waiting so long for a good one. I got two so perhaps I can sort a pattern part? ?
  18. I struggle with all of the to be honest, especially the factory aero spoiler. The problem is they all look like an afterthought (probably because they were) and it's too obvious that they're just stuck on. They (BMW) should have done a better job with integrating the edges of their aero spoiler. The ACS style really only looks good from a few angles, and also looks like an afterthought. I'm wondering is this one, designed for the aero spoiler, might not fit on the standard tailgate. Yes it will still look stuck on (as it is) but it's much lower profile so might not look as obvious. Not sure I'm up for $200+shipping to be a guinea pig... ?
  19. Old, torn, worn, tired and broken arch liners out... all the guards checked and swept, no rust at all, just 24 years of crap and some fat spiders... Fresh OE liners with all new hardware ready to go in... Ohh, what's that in the bottom corner @sweetm3? ?
  20. This, it's almost worth paying someone else to mount the tyres and wheels. I had to yell into their workshop in Mt Wellington once not to use a gun, they looked at me sideways then made a half-arsed effort with a leaver. I did them properly when I got home. However (discount included) it's difficult to find better deals elsewhere with any regularity.

Yours broke/suspect? Tried to clean it (non-contact rubbing alcohol)?
  23. Hate to rain on the parade but that's their perpetual sale, they just rename it from time-to-time. When they don't have the sale the "normal" prices are close the the 40% off deal. It's totally illegal but any complaints are just likely to lead to higher prices. I've had 4 x tyres in my basket there since Feb and the name of the sale changes but the price never does.
