Yeah, you don't need to spend much but you need a little technical nous (or an IT friend) to get ADS up and running properly. I have all the config files I can share should you choose to go that route. Edit: if you simply want a scan and are up in Auckland at any stage drop me a line, can do it on my rig for free.

I still wonder why the bloody thing is tethered? That seems like a solution just hanging around waiting for a relevant problem.
-
Hmm. So what's up with all those people who have volunteered their time to fix stuff like this? And how much time does it actually take to raise a ticket with Invision?
-
Now that's interesting... I don't have auto lock (can code it) but if I manually lock via the button on the dash it *doesn't* lock the fuel cap... strange that the button and auto function lock different things!

I'd certainly pick the unit you wanted rather than the vendor to be honest... sure I had a less than ideal experience with Avin but they have been responsive and everything seems to have been resolved (if i believe PayPal). There's nothing to suggest you couldn't have a better or worse experience from another vendor.

Ugh, I've had the inevitable "fuel pot" (fuel filler cap) spring/hinge failure... I knew it was on the way out and it will happen to every single E8x 1er because it's a terrible, terrible design (those lax Germans eh?). So now it swings out on left hand turns and then bangs back in on right hand turns. Nice. I did run the gauntlet by not preemptively ordering a replacement. It's a bit of a PITA job but a doable DIY nevertheless.

Which is interesting because they're not 208's... 261's maybe?
-
Can't include the Angry Bird for that price, no way.
-
Yes, terrible pic but all good, I understand. Thank you. I'm interested in more pics of that roof spoiler if/when you're inclined, especially the front on view and around where it attached. I don't have a spoiler at all, might like one, but don't like the BMW "aero" spoiler because it looks like an afterthought, just stuck on (and it is). The style that you have matches up with the gutter lines (I think) and looks a lot better integrated than most.

I shan't be tempted but do you have any pics of them on the 130?
-
Yes, I realise this now (more than a decade of acquired knowledge later) hence my observation that the ad was appalling. ?
-
What do you hang from your mirror?
-
It's really quite amazing isn't it? You couldn't hope to get a tidy e39 M5 for that, if indeed it goes sub-20k. Does anyone have any idea how many of these e60's are floating around? Soon the parts will be worth more than the car. Will it bounce back?
-
Still working out how to drive them both at the same time. ? Rest assured, the M3 is faster.
-
I wonder if the angry bird is included. It's just about an automatic disqualifer, I'd generalise that any owner that would hang one of those on/in an M5 doesn't know how to drive or look after an M5. Caveat emptor.

Any updates? It's still broken, just like your sig @hybrid ?
-
Bump, various parts still available.

OMG... bump. I didn't even remember putting this up for sale... $30k in 2008 and no bites. I put it in storage for 6 years and now it's possibly worth close to $30k having dropped to $18k (~2010) and rebounding... and i'd forgotten I'd had the clutch replaced with an OE one by TM BMW... bonus. Edit: and that ad was appalling... for a start it's not even "Dove" it's "Lotus White" lol.

Interesting... threaded (female?) as in you could screw in an elbow fitting? Because without the 90* the hose won't even fit... Have you tried unscrewing the elbow from your old pump? I've never tried that but perhaps it comes out?
-
@Gaz - I'm sure this won't help you, other than providing sanity comfort, but the one in my old 328 looked exactly as in your picture... when you say "threaded" - which part are you referring to?
-
Someone will pay more than that IMHO. Chuck them on Trademe with a $1 reserve pick-up only and I'm sure they'll go for more than $50.

Interesting, I just got a 100% refund from PayPal for my Avin Android unit... ...and I wonder if that's related to a factory/office shutdown in China (AVIN "USA" is only a legal front for a Chinese company). If so then I almost feel bad for them. They still have a US$350 "security" lodged against my credit card that they required (against my protestations) for the replacement unit and there's another NZ$100 on top that I had to pay for return shipping (they offered me US$50 to compensate for that, I accepted). It will be interesting to see if they follow up with that "security" because that's also through PayPal. So, I think worst case scenario for me is US$414 and best case is NZ$100... I'm happy with either.
