  1. do you want a pibe bender or a tube bender. pipe benders crimp and crush the pipe unless you pack the tube with sand.
  2. yep his user is MM regular poster with a E28 should not be to hard to find. Mateja is his name http://bimmersport.co.nz/profile/15286-m-m/
  3. Give MM a shout he has the complete motor after his m30 swap. Head been traveling so may be slow replying.
  4. Good to see that the a cat has inspected and approved of the I stall.
  5. Brent is that home or have you got a work shop cat??
  6. I think that you may need to rethink. You are saying that you can't afford to go through the cert processes, yet you are performing a turbo swap in your car. It already needs a cert if you are going to turbo. Find a cert inspector that you can work with and talk to them. They will have the final say as to what you can and can't do. Go check out old school .Yes there have been two questions about mods like this recently. One from MM when mateja was fitting the radiator in to his m30 swapped e28. The thread is 100s of pages long so just go to the end then back 10 pages and you should find something.
  7. So i have ended up with two getrag 220 boxes. One was from ray at hell BM and the other was swapped for other parts. I have decided to go a different direction and these are now for sale. I paid 450 + get so 520. Would like to get some thing close to what I paid $450 The other i was told came from a low KM 318ti so has had a easy life behind the 4cyl. $400 for that one. Both are in Auckland, would swap both of them and a ZF auto trans for a good ZF manual. Thanks Call me on 0226711855 Photos on the weekend.
  8. IT also has the hella aftermarket grill and extra smaller headlight.
  9. Yes they did make the 318. They also mane a 318is in the American market that had all the fruit of the 323I. That also has the kameri front dam. Would like to know what else it has.
  10. I spoke to Gavin today. 800 for a full tune including a couple of hours of dyno time
  11. What do you want to know. I'm kind of Making it up as I go along. It's made out of a real-estate sign that was out side a property well after it sold and the new owner pulled it down and dumped it. It's 945X460mm X650 I'm going cut the holes for the doors and windows, then fit Angle so I can get the shape and also cover he sharp edgesll around the door and windows with car door rubbers to seal the dust in. I'm using a sink as the hopper as I want to be able to change media . Now I will just pull the plug sweep and blow out the cabnet, replace with a new media and blast away. Lots of people rely on pressure for blasting but it's volume of air. I have two compressors, one small one mid. I also have a tank from a large Compressor that I'm going to use as a dump tank to provide the volume and pressure. A vacuum cleaner on the side to extract and a mate showed me a vortex thing that goes in between the vacuum it separates media from the extracted air. Umm gloves are cheap and easy to find, blast guns are easy aswell. I bit of glass with a film so it can be protected. Any thing else you want to know .
  12. Been busy not doing much on the car, but been doing lots around the car . So I pulled the m20b23 out of the rusty 323. It's 4speed which is disappointing. T thought it was but now I know . The motor is going down to Hastings to aid duddly get his stroke on. I also sold the motor that I had sitting on the stand, 2.0l iron has been replaced with 2.8 alloy. I have lots of parts that need to be cleaned. And I have always wanted a media blaster. So I have reclaimed some panels that have been left on the road side. Used an old stainless sink and have started. It's currently riveted, once I get a new liner for my mig and I'm happy I'll make some holes and plug weld it. But my cheap Chinese rivet gun broke. I also need to fold up the top. Need to sort out some 900 long angle stock to make the folds or better a long folding brake. Next up I performed some biopsy so see how bad the cancer was under the paint. Looked in the common spots on one side. Found bog but no reason for it. Will see when I strip it right back That is quite annoying a patch lap joint and not on the entire section so now under the bogg rust holes. Enough for now. Oh and I have also been doing this And allot of time with this one I need new photos. She's got so much more hair now.
  13. Rohan text me your number I'll call you if I make it to the car yard.

  14. so you still need to get it certed after its had coild fitted, between 300-500 dollars. You will need to check with your cert guy as to what to buy, some cheap brands do not meet NZ specs and will not pass the cert processes. YEllow, XYX, fortune, BC are all sold in NZ and the cert guys will be familiar with them
  15. there is one at Zebra in auckland, if i get time over the weekend i will go and have aloook and see if it had teh mirrors still
  16. Thanks for the info. I look forward to more info. Yes I was planning on catch canning it. Is a pcv of any type needed. Some motors prefer crank pressure or vacuum, any one have any idea on what the preference is on a m52. Or are they happy to run with just a vent.
  17. Hello I have a set or calipers and a set of front hubs. Where are you based mate
  18. http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1758443-m54b30-cams-into-m52-head Have a look at this. My understanding of it is it gets tricky with vanos and non vanos cams and timing tools About post 10 he has a combo worked out that will work.
  19. Yes this would be good to know . I will be watching
  20. I have to admit when my mate got a type r integra I was impressed with the power out put and the way it just took off when every thing else was on red line . Many years ago now and no where up to the cars that this thread was started about.
  21. so in this photo, what are the two things in the yellow? It seems that all conversions that i have seen use a series of hoses to join these things together. What are they and are they needed, if they are removed will the OBDII still function?
  22. Hello gents I have myself a m52 and a m50 manifold. So I'm wanting to put it the two together and profit. So I have been looking in to the swap and the connections that needs be made. I'm a noob with the amount of extras bolted to the side of this thing. A motor needs fuel, air and spark. I'm a bit old school in that respect. It's going in a e21 so many things are simply not there to reconnect and effect the ecu. So What don't I need? The vapor chamber that needs that big hose can I simply fit a pcv and or catch can Abs Clutch control What else can I flash out of my ecu and not need to reinstall. Thanks for the help gents
  23. I'm not sure if I like the bumpers. I do looove that interior.
