Had water pump and thermo. housing replaced. Some other odds and ends checked/serviced. Installed cup holder :-) Installed amp and sub in boot - I'd fit quite comfortably in the boot if not for the spare tyre retention bolt... Oh and colour is TOPASBLAU METALLIC

Mmm just bought a car... So someone needs to buy this. Service it, treat it right and not drive it so I can take it off your hands in about a year (approx.) Looks grand - I'm sure you'll have no trouble selling dude.

The climate control unit! Pulled it out, retested and no noise. Plugged it back in but hanging loose and the little fan in the back is noisy. There seems to be some other noise behind the dash cluster also... This only stays for 5 seconds or so then stops. So possibly the resistor you've mention Zero or this: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=298527 Relief thinking I haven't f**ked this up but annoying too!

Not sure - has crossed my mind... Have tried turning the h/u amp off to no affect. Have disconnected the amp turn on lead and rca's to no affect. Sigh. H/u out next.

So I tried installing a sub in my e46 today. It came with an alpine h/u and alpine amp in the boot but the sub was absent. Spent all day checking the boot wiring and mounting the amp more securely. Test it and set the gain all good but time consuming so far. Then I start it and something is making a motor noise in the dash - either the h/u or the climate control unit. Keeps going even when the car is off and the key removed. To get it to stop I have to disconnect the battery... I did not touch anything in the dash. All work was done in the boot... Ideas?

Bought myself a new car on the weekend. Got an e46 325i. Good points: Manual Motorsport Good spec Blue 2 owner vehicle - previous owner bought in UK approx. 2005 and bought it back with him Decent service history Bad points: Covered in scratches and dings Seats are worn No cup holders! Aftermarket headunit works fine but is quite dated Heater fan surges a little To do list (this will grow): Get it serviced and looked over - I bought it without getting a PPI as I have found the manual cars change hands pretty fast! Good cut and polish Dent Magician for the little stuff Leather interior Cup holders - Done New shift knob and boot Update to in car audio - has Alpine h/u and speaker upgrade with amp in boot but sub missing... Sub added :-) Window tints - see leather interior Car is nice to drive and so smooth. Might see some of you at one of the coffee meets soon :-)
