Haha good effort for doing it yourself. Might have a hunt around for a n55 specific one then. Have the charge pipe on the way and will be tackling it next weekend hopefully
-
Looks awesome!

Just be ready to clean your wheels very often if you go for the hawks. I run them as a track pad only and usually switch to TRW for daily driving. Feel that the hawks are overkill otherwise
-
Definitely keen to see how you get on. Will be picking one up shortly for the 135 too.
-
That actually looks decent. Assuming it still fits n55 even if it says n54?
-
Yeah had a look at those kits. Just heard it can be a pita to get to the suction filter but might just skip that and just do the trans filter and fluid. Does not look too difficult. Have already got the pentosin fluid locally. Just need to pick up the filter
-
Good to know, guess i'm just being a bit pedantic about it. Might just drop and top the fluid if i get too paranoid then. We've got a mk6 golf gti that i did the dsg service on recently and it was a pretty simple process. Cheers for that

Hey guys, Just wanting to find out if anyone has had their dct transmissions serviced and their experiences with it. Picked up a 135i with the dct recently and I'm looking to get this done just because it's edging 90 000kms now but i'm finding it difficult to get any info on it. I've had one quote so far from a local bmw workshop for $1300+gst for a fluid and filter change. Is this the norm? Or is there anyone other people have used? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

It's absolutely brilliant. In D mode it shifts like a conventional auto but gets brutal in sport mode. Our golf gti has the dsg box too. Thought that was extremely quick until I drove this

Some better photos:

That car was 100% stock, decided not to go ahead with it in the end and picked up a n55 dct model instead
-
Went ahead and ordered a new set of plugs, k&n filter and a aftermarket charge pipe for it today. Wanting to do some preventative maintenance before doing the re-flash. Also got started getting the paintwork up to my standards, will be getting it sealed for winter once i'm done

Haha thanks. The type r has intake, headers, full exhaust and a proper dyno tune. along with a pretty full on suspension setup with semi slicks. Heaps of fun at the track. I've actually been looking at wheel options for the near future. Will definitely have a look at yours. Just want to get the dct and diff serviced for peace of mind first then start improving it performance wise. Most likely going to go with a catless downpipe to start and maybe freeing up the exhaust a little

Hey guys, finally back in a BMW after 5 or so years. Used to own a e30 325i which i had a little progress thread for somewhere on here. Have since owned a variety of japanese cars, mainly Hondas. But have just picked up a 2010 135i this morning. Have been looking for one for a while now. Got extremely lucky with finding this one, got it for a steal as a last minute deal from an old friend who was leaving the country for good today. Only found out about it last night and promptly secured it. It's got the n55 motor and DCT trans which I'd really wanted. Plans aren't too big for it at this stage, maybe a stage 1 reflash to start with and a few subtle cosmetic changes but mainly just a weekend car, drives amazing and the gearbox is brilliant. Here's an average photo of it with the wife's gti: And the track toy: Will get some better ones up shortly

Hey guys, so after a long stint away from bmw's i'm coming back. Have been set on a 135i for a while now and am ready to purchase. Have spent a bit of time looking at a few. I've found one that i'm pretty keen on. Its a 09 with the n54. One thing I noticed during the test drive is a slight howling noise at lower rpm, this car has had charge pipe etc replaced recently by Auckland City BMW and according to what they've told the owner, it's nothing to worry about. It's definitely boost related from what I can tell but the car feels strong on boost and seems to hold power fine. Does sound like a spooling noise, just wondering if other 135/335 owners have experienced the same issue? Will be getting a PPI done but just looking to see if it's normal on these Cheers

looking forward to the manual conversion!
-
Sounds fuel pump related to me. Possibly the relay or pump itself?
-
Who gives a sh*t? It is what it is. People are always going to market something to seem more appealing to a buyer just to get that initial interest.
-
I see this "M3" on my daily commute to work...shocks me that the owner went as far as getting that plate for it haha
-
Looks like a nice example but why does that rear muffler bother me so much haha. Is it meant to hang down like that?
-
George Stocks or Autolign are both worth a try
-
Wow it finally hit the track! Was gonna hit you up about a trackday at Hampton in a few weeks. Will drop you a text when I get back to NZ
-
You can get TWS from Repco or any Castrol dealer, it just needs to be ordered in so best to ring prior
