One of my no's is a light colored interior. It has actually been quite difficult to find a good one. Lots of poverty spec ones listed at the exact same price as higher spec'd ones (Trademe - What is everyone else listing theirs for...) Lots around the 130km mark that have had zero maintenance. Prices are starting to fall. I will just sit and wait.

I've been looking for a good F10. Avoiding 550's like they are a plague rat though. Every time I have seen an F10 with an issue it has been a 550.

The old gatherings that got too large and out of control were dealt with passively by just showing up. Or they would get smart and block all the vehicles in. And check them very slowly one by one. It killed the scene. And it didn't take too much planning. Who wants to sit there for 3 hours then be handed a fine for bald tyres and cut springs. Or you could chuck a couple of cameras up. Monitored or unmonitored. They will stop gathering there.

When I was younger the car scene was going nuts. What felt like thousands would gather in Auckland CBD to cruise Queen Street and park up where the Oriental Markets once were (Now the Countdown and apartments). We would all head off to the most remote industrial areas and take turns doing skids. Was quite respectful most of the time. It really started changing when fast and capable cars became much cheaper. The "feral's" started turning up. Dumb things started happening. Thefts and property damage. Abusing late night truck drivers (who once would just be encouraged to do a skid and would). That's when we moved onto drifting. Which we kept very private. More in the style of Japanese small clubs you would see in the old Option videos, called it NIZAN. We made sure we took care to not effect anyone else. Created our own T-shirts and stickers and even held our own car show which had the Top Secret Supra and GTR come over from Japan. I accidentally drove through the "Drags" in rural Hamilton last year. I was towing a trailer. They had setup on a main road and were blocking the rail line running nearby that I was trying to cross. There was a number of non attending public just trying to get through like me. Took about 20mins to clear it. None of them gave a sh*t about the poor people just trying to get through. I feel like we were more respectful back in the day. But that could be because I was young and cared less about other people.

Seems gaspy was updated today for Martinborough BP. Dropped 50c. Definitely kept it high for the weekend. Figuring out how to report them.

Gas stations that are clearly just keeping the tax reduction for themselves. 98 Octane at BP Martinborough was $3.409/L Questioning the staff they just said it is what it is. No doubt kept high to rip off all the Wellingtonians over the weekend. I tried to update Waze with their fuel prices. It was such a jump up in price that the app rejected my prices saying it was not possible and the prices were invalid. Haha Sigh...

Wow. I thought it was a photoshop.

Cheers sent them an email and a few others. Quite surprised to find the options are limited, expensive and quite old school for getting items shipped from Aus.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a freight forwarder in Aussie. I am wanting to ship some suspension for my 4WD that the company I am buying from really can't be bothered organising. It isn't that big or heavy. 2 x springs, 2 x torsion bars and 4 x smallish shocks. I may order more stuff if the price ends up being good. They are foam cell shocks though. So most won't want to fly them.

Ah yes the reason why I was not allowed to buy your one. Those strange shifts at low speed going through intersections.

As above. Would only add ECStuning who have been great in both NZ and the US. They merged with Turner Motorsports who make great aftermarket parts for bimmers.

I do have a bit of hate for the Ute down these ways. Every 2nd vehicle is a Ute here. They are the fastest, best handling and most capable vehicle in the world. We call it Ranger Danger. Because you just know the one sitting 2m off your bumper in a school zone is going to pass you in a dangerous spot using all of their 1500hp and F1esk handling. It's funny because it is the behaviour that BMW drivers usually get blamed for.

The M62 TU variants have vanos. Much closer relation to the M60 then the N62.

Every UTE IMO. Most are incredibly impracticable too. Builder with all his tools in the back seat because he doesn't have a hard top for the tray and his tools can/will be stolen.. Seems to be the average punters dream vehicle at the moment. The Ford Ranger. 70K+ worth of yuck.

I think I've bought one of NZ's rarest modern(ish) sedans

Yeah I saw that one. Was only up a couple of days. Someone had bid $6500 on it. Next thing the auction had been taken down. -
The system is capable (upgraded in around 2012-13. The product is there (Eroad). A cheap solution could be offered but there is no interest from the government. While I was working at Eroad I had a test unit in my old 530d. Was amazing. But it only suites commercial applications where the off road claim back (automated) easily covers the subscription. Your own product could be built with the IOT costs these days. But still only worth it if you are doing lots of private road driving.

My bet it is a repo. Often repos are stored until money can be recovered or legal issues are resolved.

Agree. Sold my E34 via the E34 group in less than an hour. Target the groups that love the cars. Engage with fellow enthusiasts. Marketplace and Trademe are tough going.

Great. This should ramp up the dumping ground for half dead Leaf's. -
https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/128i/Automatic-Transmission/?year=2008&m=20&e=2053&t=5&b=9&d=829 I went with the BMW fluid. And chucked in some Dr Tranny's shudder fix which solved my slight vibration at low RPM. This French built GM gearbox is in many vehicles.

Digging this old girl out. Has not run since 2015. After living overseas, multiple delays acquiring a property and building a shed, I finally have somewhere to work on it. Goodbye container. Will get an entire new look I think. Though unlikely to race in the BMW series again. More for hill climbs and club events at Manfield.

Interesting. How are you liking the car?
