So I lent my E87 to my brother in law while we were trying to find an issue with his Holden Colarado. It's a standard 2.8ltr intercooled TD. No engine mods or anything like that. Knew it was a vacumm leak. Took a while and eventually found this. I've seen this happen on high powered petrol cars. Detonation back through the intake. Maybe on something at the drag strip. But I can't think of what would cause this on a Diesel vehicle. As you can see this has been an internal explosion. Nothing can hit the intercooler where it is located in the car. Anyone have any idea? Fixed photo.

Leant my car to my brother in law who lives in Wellington. Got the car back today and someone has opened their door onto it pretty damn hard. Absolutely typical for Wellington. Where the people who live there are surprised when the wind catches their car door and damages someone else property..... it's like they still don't realise that Wellington is windy on occasion.. Anyway. I need to get this fixed. As dents make me care so much less for a vehicle that has them. It's in a terrible spot. Right on the crease. Should I bother with paintless dent removal? Or is this a trip to the panel beaters. Sorry about the photo quality. My $1000 Oneplus phone struggles with anything that is white. Or black. Edit. Not sure what happened to the photos. But re-added.

even if it can just hold the tabs while you pull the pipe up.
-
It does actually look like it is designed to have those tabs pushed in. Do you have a socket that would fit over it and push them all in at the same time? Then pull the pipe up.

I have no idea what it is or where it is. Photo from further back may help.

Anyone tried D1 Racing slotted rotors?
Driftit replied to volcanoblack's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Yeah this is what we told customers to sell the more expensive rotors. Which came from the same factory and had the same lateral runout specs. We should make these into a nice site sticky. I enjoyed reading through them. -
Recommended E30 service options in Wellington
Driftit replied to E28E30's topic in General Discussion
Yeah buy yourself a manual and a cheap tool kit. They are the most simple car to maintain. Also M539 is currently working on a E30 on his channel. Might give you some inspiration. -
I have watched quite a few Videos of people using Colourlock. https://www.colourlock.com/bmw_leather_dye_colour_chart.html The youtube channel M539 uses it on pretty much all his restorations. He is just an armature with no prior knowledge and it comes out great. BTW I am getting a kit myself in a few months once I have somewhere to work on it. But there is a mobile guy people recommend on the forum. Check in the Interior section of the forum.

Wow even the US is getting rid of Checks AKA Cheques. In the mean time they have made it easy to cash them digitally. Most banking apps can scan them now. I have never understood personal cheques. It's an IOU.
-
Yeah that's right. And you never see them. I didn't even see one my entire stint in the US, even at Bimmerfest.

Should have been. Seen many in the states with tow bars. It's just an E60. Which are amazing for towing. The gearbox is nothing unique. My only concern would be how jerky it would be pulling away from a stop. They are bad enough without anything behind them.

At the time of this post it only has an hour to go. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m5/listing/3243973986?bof=OMq8a8Wj No reserve: $38499 Maybe I missed a post with it already?

Probably the F10 M5. Far better than the other two. It was an option right?

Was there as a Scout. Good times. Slept in the hanger with a 747. Great vid. Shame all the hill climbs in Auckland have gone.
-
Yeah. This one.

Oh nice. I will wave out and say hi next time. I was in the 130i parked in front of you picking up the wife. Though she usually drives that. I get the E34 tractor 525td.

It is indeed.

Friend sent me a picture.

I feel like a bit of a broken record but the reminder that NZ is incredibly expensive to work on cars is always such a harsh reminder. The parts drop shipping on Trademe is terrible too.

This irritates me so much. And is why I quite like the Model S Tesla. It just looks like a car. Especially a few years since its release.

It is indeed a thread dig. I've seen the Presley car. Was at the Munich Museum when I was there in 2017.

225/40/18 and 255/35/18 Did have Roadstones now with Laufenn which are some Korean tyres. Cheap, quiet, and held up well at the track and at 200+ at the sprints. They have pretty good reviews. Going to replace the crap Bridgestone eagle f1s on the 200sx with these Laufenns.

Good. I kept looking at it. Like multiple times a day.
