  1. Yeah I saw that one. Was only up a couple of days. Someone had bid $6500 on it. Next thing the auction had been taken down.
  2. The system is capable (upgraded in around 2012-13. The product is there (Eroad). A cheap solution could be offered but there is no interest from the government. While I was working at Eroad I had a test unit in my old 530d. Was amazing. But it only suites commercial applications where the off road claim back (automated) easily covers the subscription. Your own product could be built with the IOT costs these days. But still only worth it if you are doing lots of private road driving.
  3. My bet it is a repo. Often repos are stored until money can be recovered or legal issues are resolved.

    Quick rant thread.

Agree. Sold my E34 via the E34 group in less than an hour. Target the groups that love the cars. Engage with fellow enthusiasts. Marketplace and Trademe are tough going.
  5. Great. This should ramp up the dumping ground for half dead Leaf's.
  6. https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/128i/Automatic-Transmission/?year=2008&m=20&e=2053&t=5&b=9&d=829 I went with the BMW fluid. And chucked in some Dr Tranny's shudder fix which solved my slight vibration at low RPM. This French built GM gearbox is in many vehicles.
  7. Digging this old girl out. Has not run since 2015. After living overseas, multiple delays acquiring a property and building a shed, I finally have somewhere to work on it. Goodbye container. Will get an entire new look I think. Though unlikely to race in the BMW series again. More for hill climbs and club events at Manfield.
  8. Interesting. How are you liking the car?
  9. So glad I got to see Tom @M3_Power driving his one hard. These ones are likely just to end up in some collection overseas where they will barely see daylight let alone the track. Thanks for the ride around Pukekohe Tom. Loved it.
  10. Hopefully. As I keep saying. They were good because they were cheap.
  11. I run mine on both 95 and 98. Never had a check light come on. You need to find out what code is causing the light to come on. Only thing I could think of would be detonation. And as these engines have zero issues on 95 it could be plugs that need replacing or possible you have a coil pack or two on its way out and have weak spark. No all fuel in Japan is high octane. And NPD has some dodgy sh*t in there 100RON fuel. Stuff that is banned in Europe last I read.
  12. That is what I am getting once I piece my hoist together. Best bang for buck I think. Had some promising reviews.
  13. The grills are just a distraction from the rest for me. I absolutely hate the new designs. And not an E60 oh that's a bit different but it quickly grew on me kind of way. More like a Fiat Multipla kind way.
  14. Also pretty cool rental for NZ. Is that through SIXT or something? They had some nice cars in the US/Europe but were hard work to deal with.
  15. Just in time for them to stop making it for good. Back to boring SUV's they go. Well for NZ anyway.
  16. A couple of car dealer friends (new cars) have both said that they are starting to see a slow down in demand. Already noticed a reduction in price offered from the wholesalers for trade ins.
  17. Over the hill in Featherston of all places. Just built here. Just finishing the shed and getting the hoist installed so I can pull the race car out of storage.
  18. Very pretty. Only ever seen one at the Museum in Munich. Wonder if there is one here?
  19. Ah yeah I was just looking at the B12 kits. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bilstein-parts/b12-pro-kit/46-180537~bil/ Not too badly priced. The car has only done around 135k Kms so could skip the springs. Put the savings towards new control arms. Off to read that thread.
  20. So what shock and spring combo would you get for your E87 daily commuter that spends 90% of it's time on the open road. The current M-sport stock stuff has done its time and is now getting worse by the day. I was looking at around the $1000USD mark for a kit from Bilstein or Koni/H&R. Something like this https://www.ecstuning.com/b-koni-parts/cup-kit-eibach-springs-with-koni-sport-shocks-128i-135i-coupe/1145-space-1018~kon/ Or like this. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-h-and-r-parts/touring-cup-kit/31054t-6/

    Quick rant thread.

Once you find an alignment guy that does what he is told and knows what he is doing never let them go. The ones down here are clueless. So I am buying my own gear.
  22. Hey Oli. What end of the country have you ended up in? I got back a few years ago. Only just pulling the race car out of storage after 6 years.
  23. Yeah I thought F Type + TVR
  24. A Leaf would be able to handle those KM's if it is nice and healthy. You won't love being in one for that long each day though. At 10K you won't get a healthy one.
