  1. Over the hill in Featherston of all places. Just built here. Just finishing the shed and getting the hoist installed so I can pull the race car out of storage.
  2. Very pretty. Only ever seen one at the Museum in Munich. Wonder if there is one here?
  3. Ah yeah I was just looking at the B12 kits. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bilstein-parts/b12-pro-kit/46-180537~bil/ Not too badly priced. The car has only done around 135k Kms so could skip the springs. Put the savings towards new control arms. Off to read that thread.
  4. So what shock and spring combo would you get for your E87 daily commuter that spends 90% of it's time on the open road. The current M-sport stock stuff has done its time and is now getting worse by the day. I was looking at around the $1000USD mark for a kit from Bilstein or Koni/H&R. Something like this https://www.ecstuning.com/b-koni-parts/cup-kit-eibach-springs-with-koni-sport-shocks-128i-135i-coupe/1145-space-1018~kon/ Or like this. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-h-and-r-parts/touring-cup-kit/31054t-6/

    Quick rant thread.

Once you find an alignment guy that does what he is told and knows what he is doing never let them go. The ones down here are clueless. So I am buying my own gear.
  6. Hey Oli. What end of the country have you ended up in? I got back a few years ago. Only just pulling the race car out of storage after 6 years.
  7. Yeah I thought F Type + TVR
  8. A Leaf would be able to handle those KM's if it is nice and healthy. You won't love being in one for that long each day though. At 10K you won't get a healthy one.
  9. Doing that many KM's I would put some effort into test driving a number of vehicles. Many cheap Jap cars have terrible seats and uncomfortable driving positions. Find something that suites your shape and size. Look for a car that will soak up NZ's trash roads. I am currently using my E87 130i as a commuter. It's getting 8.6L/100kms. However the suspension just doesn't suite the crap quality of SH2 and I am sick of bumping my way too and from work. So I am going to a F10 535i soon which was wonderful on the open road. And as mentioned above. Try and find a NZ new Lexus or you will have the exact same problems as any other Tokyo crawler. They are no more reliable and have the same shitty plastics. The 1UZ is long gone.
  10. Nice. I liked that colour so much in the early 00's that I painted one of my 180's with it. Chucked in a little extra white pearl and it was amazing. Blue Mica Metallic. Purchased two of these E-Tunes crashed from Japan to fix up. Great cars. Best of luck selling it. Can't be many at all in that condition. Both the ones I fixed and sold were written off by the new owners who are probably still paying off the finance.
  11. Just another dealer trying to tell you its worth this much. Well maintained? So he has all the Japanese service logs and translated them? Plus everything else that's been mentioned.
  12. Grab it all from bimmergeeks.com they link to good versions. Don't need their gear.
  13. B10 Turbo is what you want. But just a little more than 55k.
  14. Just bring in a conversion from the US. Then at least you can shop around for a better spec/condition vehicle. They are just the modern Nissan Silvia right now. Mod and play with them while you can.

    Shed fit outs

Ah, I am using a nvr cloud key v2+ which gives me Unifi Protect. They are a great little device. But yeah I can see how having to buy one when you didn't need it would be a pain in the ass.
  16. Being a US model I find it odd that its speedo is in KPH. So it's mileage could be anything if it was swapped in Japan before being complied here. Decoding E34 chassis numbers does not work too well BTW.

    Shed fit outs

Was just looking at http://www.swisstrax.co.nz/ from Jacko's post a while back. But if you spill oil. How do you clean underneath without pulling them all apart? Edit: Looks like a good option if you had a sump.

    Shed fit outs

So after quite some time my shed is nearing build completion. Auckland Covid delays mean they are months behind. Just ordering the 4 post hoist. And I may have scored a 2 poster very cheap too. Working out which floor coating/carpet I am going to order. Getting a run of ply made made. Security system is all installed. Ubiquity gear for the entire network and security (awesome stuff). Buy it using a US address and payment method to save hundreds over PB Tech if possible. I think I ended up saving $700USD all up... Then after nearly 7 years I can pull out the E34 from it's container and bring it to it's new home. Ready for a full tear down and rebuild (it had race fuel left in it ). Now off to spend way too much time figuring out the best floor coating.
  19. It spent 32 years of its life in the UK and there is no WOF equivalent in Florida. It would be a huge gamble.
  20. That looks like it has sat outside for a very very long time. The back seats are all saggy.
  21. I'm on board with Toyota and the reasoning they gave for not signing the Glasgow agreement. https://www.autoblog.com/2021/11/11/toyota-zero-emissions-climate-pledge/ The same goes in NZ. Our infrastructure is terrible for EV's. My town only has one charging station. And during the winter months Solar is not a viable option to power both a house and a car on it's own. Hoping the Hydrogen tech keeps the ICE alive. Even running around in a Tesla Model S on the East Coast of the USA was still a little bit of a hassle. Whilst it did all the work telling me where to stop and for how long on a road trip. It still meant extended stops in the middle of nowhere for up to 45mins. A model S is affordable in the US. It isn't here. And our lease options are not even worth looking at. I feel NZ IS one of the countries Toyota is talking about.
  22. Someone has BMW130 on a 135.
  23. It's just another dealer trying to tell you it's worth this much.
  24. Worst things ever when wearing a helmet. Especially BMW ones as the cartridge is quite large.
  25. Would take the private one over the dealer one and save yourself $5500. You could even buy another one with your savings. No sunroof on the private one either. I hate sunroofs.
