  1. Wow not even detachable.
  2. New S is superior imo. The new 7 is just a sad looking new Rolls.

The resurgence of Caravans. Burn them all. NZ desperately needs to introduce a towing license similar to the UK. The Hyundai SUV with 2 adults, 3 kids, a full boot, 5 bikes on a flimsy bike rack, towing a shittyly restored early 80s wheeled chode of a caravan that has had all the rest of the luggage stored at the very back is quite bloody scary to follow. Especially when you realise the driver has probably never towed anything other than a rental trailer from his local gas station to move some cuttings of which he took 10 mins trying to back up his drive and took the downpipe drain off the side of his garage.
  4. All depends on what you want to bring in. Classic or modern. Add another 3k on top for the recently introduced "you're not buying a half dead Nissan Leaf" tax. The auctions are still a huge risk if you are buying blind. But they are much better than they were 10 years ago. Best to go via an agent that will take on some of the liability.
  5. I watched one sell for around 40k a month or so back. White one that was well specd with 30k less kms than the one posted. It also sat for sale for quite a while.
  6. Just kidding. It's the new BMW 7 Series. Hoping it's just a bad render. But not looking likely.
  7. Can do if you want. Will try and get around there tomorrow.
  8. He lives around the corner from me. They are all rooted. There is also a small BMW wrecker just around from me. Lots of E30's in various states. Owner must be an E30millionaire.
  9. Ha. Times have changed. I would have purposely taken my M325i out for a thrash in the bad weather.
  10. NZ was never a lovely safe haven. Ive got dozens of friends and family that have had multiple cars stolen. Some even at knife point. Just do your best to protect your vehicle. Never park in a Wilson's. Have a way to track it. Hope you get it back. Sadly my Wife can't park her 200sx anywhere without attracting the wrong people. So we rarely take it anywhere where it would be parked out of sight.
  11. I wonder what carplay integration that is? Edit: Prob this. Way too expensive to still have the crap factory screen. https://integratedautomotive.co.uk/product/retrofit-carplay-android-auto-bmw-1-series-e8x/

This is apparently a thing now. Thought it had stopped in the early 2000s. This was in Paris, France. Happened twice to this guy apparently. 6 month wait for parts.
  13. Just the new Remurewa tractor. The charge time without 3 phase is a laugh. Its also $220,000 NZD in this vid. So I guess the power bill won't be of concern. I can imagine the NZ version will have a significant mark up too. At 2.5+ ton I hope it is charged a decent amount of RUC. Its like the anti enthusiast vehicle. The bonnet doesn't even open....

Even if it only partially supports the E46 it will still be better than Carly. Had great fun with it.
  15. I thought it wasn't too bad in black where you can't see any of the broken lines. Then I found out the bonnet doesn't open. And it's 110ish thousand GBP. Oh forgot to say. On the big battery with single phase power. 54hour charge time from 0 to 100. Should be a little less in NZ. But not much less.

Turned into a stuff.co.nz comments section.
  17. One of my no's is a light colored interior. It has actually been quite difficult to find a good one. Lots of poverty spec ones listed at the exact same price as higher spec'd ones (Trademe - What is everyone else listing theirs for...) Lots around the 130km mark that have had zero maintenance. Prices are starting to fall. I will just sit and wait.
  18. I've been looking for a good F10. Avoiding 550's like they are a plague rat though. Every time I have seen an F10 with an issue it has been a 550.

The old gatherings that got too large and out of control were dealt with passively by just showing up. Or they would get smart and block all the vehicles in. And check them very slowly one by one. It killed the scene. And it didn't take too much planning. Who wants to sit there for 3 hours then be handed a fine for bald tyres and cut springs. Or you could chuck a couple of cameras up. Monitored or unmonitored. They will stop gathering there.

When I was younger the car scene was going nuts. What felt like thousands would gather in Auckland CBD to cruise Queen Street and park up where the Oriental Markets once were (Now the Countdown and apartments). We would all head off to the most remote industrial areas and take turns doing skids. Was quite respectful most of the time. It really started changing when fast and capable cars became much cheaper. The "feral's" started turning up. Dumb things started happening. Thefts and property damage. Abusing late night truck drivers (who once would just be encouraged to do a skid and would). That's when we moved onto drifting. Which we kept very private. More in the style of Japanese small clubs you would see in the old Option videos, called it NIZAN. We made sure we took care to not effect anyone else. Created our own T-shirts and stickers and even held our own car show which had the Top Secret Supra and GTR come over from Japan. I accidentally drove through the "Drags" in rural Hamilton last year. I was towing a trailer. They had setup on a main road and were blocking the rail line running nearby that I was trying to cross. There was a number of non attending public just trying to get through like me. Took about 20mins to clear it. None of them gave a sh*t about the poor people just trying to get through. I feel like we were more respectful back in the day. But that could be because I was young and cared less about other people.

Seems gaspy was updated today for Martinborough BP. Dropped 50c. Definitely kept it high for the weekend. Figuring out how to report them.

Gas stations that are clearly just keeping the tax reduction for themselves. 98 Octane at BP Martinborough was $3.409/L Questioning the staff they just said it is what it is. No doubt kept high to rip off all the Wellingtonians over the weekend. I tried to update Waze with their fuel prices. It was such a jump up in price that the app rejected my prices saying it was not possible and the prices were invalid. Haha Sigh...
